can't tell when friends are on line

I have been having a real hard time sleeping ...and ..it would of been nice if I could of talked to a friend on here ....but I can't tell if a friend is on line ....so I can got talk to them ....or any one else ....any ideas ....

I'm new to this site and am wondering something similar? Is there an online app that would make it easier to access? Is there a chat function or is it just through messaging?

The "chat" function is something that has been "promised". But, might be very far in the future.
Hey, Musk....it is very hard with this format to know who is "online" when you need to talk. But, remember, you can send a pm any time you need to just...get it out! I will respond (or just "listen") asap. I am online mostly in the morning.

to tell if friends are online click friends and the ones who are online will have a dot and it will say online under their avitar.....some friends have selected not to show when they are online.....that is not great if we want to almost realtime talk to them....but the chat feature hopefully will return soon....sooner the better....

I was about to say the same thing billw said! I have not been on line for about 2 weeks due to illness and now possible flash floods and having to evacuate later. More on that later. I hope you were able to get all of your questions answered!! Hugs

Musk did you figure out how to see if someone is on? It's 2:30 where I am and I'm wide awake. I can't sleep worrying about our town having a flash flood! Hugs sweety.

    So mad at Xfinity!  They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today!  Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...
