  Today I was feeling really lonely and sad, missing my man in basic training, so i decided to clean up and rearrange my room. Mind you, all the windows are closed. I turned around and saw a Lady bug crawling on the stack of letters that I have recieved from him. Lady bugs are a sign of good luck, prosperity, & new beginnings.   missed yesterday's journal, was very busy. It felt good to have some thing to do, instead of staying home bored. missing Cristian but staying strong.

  My name is Samantha, I'm going on 19, and I am a military girlfriend. My boyfriend of almost a year is currently in basic training in Fort Benning Georgia for the Connecticut National Guard. He left on August 13th & I got my first letter today! But, of course, I miss him like crazy. I wanted to make this group so other girls in my same situation could have a platform to just talk whenever they need it. Feel free to post & I'll do my best to respond to everyone.

  The one day i didnt check the mail, my sister came upstairs with my first letter from my Private! I was so emotional that I just held it and cried happy tears for a few minutes. I finally read it and was so fucking happy to hear how he was doing, it was the best surprise. I couldn't be happier, the smile wont leave my face. I can't wait to see him.

  Today was so busy. I celebrated my nieces birthday and spent lots of time with my sisters. It felt good to be busy & preoccupied amongst all my sadness. I do obviously feel sadness now as my night winds down and I can't talk to Cristian. I miss him like crazy but being strong is slowly getting easier every day. Until next time, journal.

  Last night, I dreamt that my phone might get shut off and id have no way to contact Cristian.. which I know isnt very likey because 1. he has my address & can write me letter & 2. I have his number and could leave a message telling where to contact me if anything... I think my dream showed my true fear of losing Cristian for good. I always wonder if he's thinking about me or missing me. Its almost 1 week down & I'm praying it all goes by fast & I can hear from my baby soon.
