Went To A Live GA Meeting Yesterday

I went to my first live GA Meeting yesterday.  I still like the anonymous nature of the GA Telephone Meeting.  But I am committed to the GA program and recovery.  I knew I had to go to a live meeting again.  It's hard to face someone directly and tell them you have a problem.  It makes me feel very weak and vulnerable.  I am not used to that.  At work I cannot be weak nor vulnerable (my clients depend on me).  In my personal life being separated I cannot be weak nor vulnerable (my kids depend on me).  But in all honesty I do feel weak and vulnerable to this addiction.  The meeting structure was different than I remember.  I probably won't go back to that meeting but I found two other meeting places that I want to try.  I was the only woman last night so again that makes it a little difficult  even though everyone was very nice and welcoming.  Let's keep fighting the fight!!!  xoxoxo Chargergirl

I wish you could come here to our meetings - it is mostly women. Seriously! I am surprised at how outnumbered the men are at almost all the weekly meetings! I talked to a GA friend in another state and they were telling me that they had 30 folks at their meeting and it was split evenly. I thought we had high attendance. I am so sorry you couldn\'t find a comfortable place there; I have made a lot of friends at my GA mtgs, friends I can call and text with. I hope you find that soon. Take care and hang in there. Keep fighting the fight! Lots of love, Renee
