We Made It! Road Trip
Sunday, June 5, 2016 – Rolled outta Lewiston about noonish, a quick trip down to Freeport and lunch at The Freeport Cafe, the only restaurant that has never disappointed me in almost 50 years. I wanted to be sure Mary Anne got a taste of REAL New England clam chowder before we left Maine. Then it was south on I-295 to I-95 and then west on I-90 in Massachusetts and on to Albany, NY, where we stopped for the first night. Monday we drove on across NY and, instead of going to Niagara Falls like anyone else on their honeymoon would (Niagara Falls is so-oo mid-century nyuk, nyuk, nyuk nyuk), we opted to stop to tour the JELL-O Gallery in La Grange NY. It was every bit as awesome as it sounds; pictures to follow sometime. JELL-O has quite the extensive (and checkered? You decide.) history. Then we finished crossing NY, almost 500 miles of it in all and that night we slept in Erie PA. There was a whole lotta big, flat 'n not much on our route – my eyes hurt from seeing so far and so wide above; the sky seems farther away because there's so much of it. Tuesday Indiana Caverns – underground boat ride 'n 'baked potatoes'. Details later. Safe landing in Owensboro Wednesday night at the hotel (the best of the four, right here in Owensboro, and we've stayed there twice). Now Sunday and pretty crashed by 9am. Wednesday 2016-06-08 Yeah – Sunday was the wall, I've been mostly crashed since then. I have walked about a mile a couple of times, but yesterday and today the aches and pains have just become screaming agony. So far, nothing is touching it. BUT!!! That was the Best Road Trip Ever and it went According To Plan besides. Finally, I got something together to post and let you know that we made it. Life2dot1 has begun. And there's a pretty kick-ass fried chicken joint just a couple hundred steps from our door. Life2dot1 is Swee-eeeet. I wish us All Love, Light and Laughter, Blessed Be.

Aloha Jack ~ It\'s great to know that you and Mary Anne succeeded in making the big move and had a wonderful trip!!! Sorry to hear about the big crash but at least you\'re there! Hopefully you can rest and recuperate and leave the unpacking for later. Hope that fried chicken helps to rejuvenate you! Keep us posted~
Road trips rock if you have good company! I\'m so glad you could make the trip fun. Rest a lot now because it will take a while to get over this energy drain. Much love to you. I\'ve missed you.

Yeah Di, a year and a half ago, I didn\'t know Mary Anne existed - or that love could be like this. Hard to remember what life was like before; it seems unreal to me now. Love, Light and Laughter to you and yours.. xo
Denise! Hiya, dahlin! Yes, great road trip. Fitting, since I think I can\'t stand another such trip - my old-and-broken-ness is making itself pretty clearly known.
On the plus side, we did go to a yard sale and ride a couple of bus routes today. We even walked over a mile, overall. And yes, now I\'m done for the day. :-)
