Update
I am in Mobile with my sister. She asked me to come. It's not good. Becky admitted later that night that she had had a lump in her breast for 2 years. She'd had non-cancerous lumps before and assumed that's what it was. The necessary staff were off Thanksgiving and Friday, and of course over the weekend, so the breast tissue will not be able to be biopsied until Monday. The orthopedic surgeon and oncologist initially agreed they wanted to wait for that biopsy to do her hip replacement, because depending on what kind of cancer it is, if it is breast cancer at all, the chemo for breast cancer would not allow her hip to heal. So they were going to somehow stabilize it another way if the biopsy revealed the worst. But she is in terrible pain, even on the highest doses of painkillers allowed, so this morning the orthopedist and oncologist conferred and made the decision to go ahead and do the surgery. She is flat on her back, immobile, in pain and obviously very worried. There are lesions on her hips, one leg bone, her spine, her ribs, her collarbone. Best case scenario, the breast biopsy turns out okay, and we proceed with treatment for the bone cancer. Worst case scenario, it's breast cancer that has metasticized. All Jack knows is that his Mom broke her hip. They decided to withhold more info until they know for sure what they are dealing with. I asked for prayers on facebook. There is no guarantee that positive thinking and energy will help, but there is absolutely nothing to be gained from negativity...so we're trying. I will update when I can here. Please pray.

Praying for Becky, for your sister, for Jack & for all friends & family. Wishing the best outcome possible as far as test results go. Praying for you, sweet Gina, as well. Please keep us posted.

You are just where you need to BE and I believe strongly in the power of the collective. My prayers are with your family at this most challenging of times.
May you feel surrounded by competent and loving care and I'm so very grateful you can be there with your sister, Becky and dear Jack.
Please keep us updated as you are able and I have no doubt there's a chapel in the hospital where you are? It was where I spent a huge amounts of my time in-between visits to patients and doing my work. It was where I could focus and stay present to what mattered. Just a thought...
Loving and healing care,
XO Joanie
So hopeful there is encouraging prognosis after all testing is complete. Getting in a more pain reduced and tolerable place soon is a huge goal for her Drs, I'm sure. Keeping you all in the most positive of thoughts. Please know I care. Gentlest of hugs for you and your family.

I'm so sorry. These things are not easy and I'm sure you are a great comfort to Becky - you take good care of you, too. Prayers and positive thoughts to you all ~ Joanna x
It's good that you can be there with your sister and Becky during this time. I'm so sorry for all she is going through and for all the worry that it brings to family and friends.
I don't know all that prayer can accomplish, but I do believe it's better to pray and send positive vibes than not to. I'll never say I believe prayer changes the circumstance....the disease, the accident, the whatever. But I DO believe prayer helps me to face and deal with whatever life throws my way. So, I pray with all my heart and soul that Becky will find the strength and courage to deal with everything she must, and I hope beyond what I could express that the news is good news and somehow, miraculously, the cancer vanishes.
Tight hugs from my heart to yours~
I will pray all our Angels will wrap their wings around you and Becky
