Trying something new
Yesterday, despite the positive entry, DID NOT END WELL. I ate soo much cheese and fries and fries with cheese. All of which lead to a steep downward spiral which lead to waking up feeling absolutely terrible. The first two hours of work I moved like a turtle. Finally made myself drink the left over Yogi Positive Energy tea which kicked my ass into gear until lunch. Lunch was a huge sucess!! Ate my (planned) food at the table rather then the couch and read more of the Hunger Fix instead of fiction escapes. Granted, it took two more full cups of the aforementioned tea to get through the rest of the day, but I still had a average-ly productive afternoon.
The real win, though, came when I got home. Immediately after work is the WORST time of day for me. Snacking, couch potatoe-ing, and bingeing TV shows, the whole nine yards. (Side note: according to the internet, that saying is from one of the world wars, one maybe, when the automatic bullet thingies where nine yards long. shooting the whole thing was going the "whole nine yards") So, based on today's reading, instead, I sat in my little library nook and meditated for 5 minutes after a short breathing exercise. Just sat there, never checked the clock, and let thoughts richochet around without interference. Only after did I eat. Granted, I still ate crap on the couch, but between the meditating and writing this down, I'm going to be able to stop with the one serving. Wish me luck!!
