Today was a Good Day
Today was a good day for me. At first I thought I would have to leave work because I wasn't feeling well. But I made it through.
I talked to some of my close friends today about the support groups I'm in and about Daily Strength. They think it's great that I'm taking steps to improving myself and I'm trying to overcome these emotional obstacles in my life. It really does feel good, like a deep breath of fresh air!
I saw the one who angers me today. When I did see her, I didn't feel anger and hatred. What I felt was pity for her. She is so alone and depends on how men react to her to feel anything good about her self. That's a terrible way of life. It makes me grateful for the relationship I have with my other half and the love and support I get from my close circle of friends. They are awesome!
My one friend, whom I hold very dear to my heart, opened my eyes to something I didn't quite see before. I told her about a situation I had gone through with the person I don't care for much, and she said, "Don't you see she's jealous of you! You have everything she wants!..." And that statement just really opened up my eyes...wow. That explains why she treated me so badly and the little hints, the subtle remarks she would make to me that now I clearly see were done and said out of envy.
Well, she's not going to be taking up my time nor my well being. But having this knowledge after taking a step back and actually looking at the picture made me see her in a whole different light. That, in turn, makes my heart a lot less burdened with hatred and more filled with joy and thankfulness that I am who I am, and there was nothing she could do to change that! :)
