This is not a movie

Not every mental illness is about:

Bathtubs filled up with blood

Punching the wall

Being strapped down on a metal bed

Straightjackets

Going around cursing people

Smashing a mirror in the ground

Screaming with no reason in the middle of the street

Windows with iron bars

Being put to sleep with tranquilizers and a syringe

Stalking pleople

Setting things on fire

Being haunted by shadows

Predicting death and tragedies

Being locked up in a nuthouse and trying To escape

I hate it when I tell someone that I have OCD, depression, I'm bipolar, self harm or anything, or that I go to the shrink and take meds and they give me the "really?? YOU??" Or "you don't look like someone who has mental illness", "you don't look crazy/ sick", "you look normal"

Once I even got a "You are not Bipolar... All bipolar people are locked in mental hospitals and they all have homicidal tendencies".
I give up
