The journey before me is long and difficult
I have not posted for quite awhile. There is nothing good to report. My wife continues her affair thinking I am unaware. She has told me she ended it because our children are the priority. I have daily evidence to the contrary. Today she will be served with a request for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences AND inappropriate marital conduct relinquishing full custody to me. She will be completely blindsided as she expects me to jointly submit a non-contested, joint custody, irreconcilable differences divorce, give her child support and alimony, and split the $1k cost of the divorce with her.
Things may not go my way, but I will not lay down and let her run over me then start a new life with her also cheating boyfriend.
We told the older (adult) sons last weekend and the younger (preteen) son this past weekend. It was soul wrenching horrible. She did not expect it to be bad and it was exactly how horrible I had been warning her it would be. Since then she has been brutal in her treatment of me.
The road ahead looks bleak but surely there will be something better for me and my precious boys once we persevere through to the other side of this.

I\'m sorry to hear. The memory of telling my kids is still fresh - and horrible. And yes, there absolutely will be something better for you. It is a long road ahead, but I do believe it will be better.
I hope it goes well when she gets the papers. It is such a hard balancing act between being assertive and standing up for yourself while maintaining a civil relationship and finding some way towards a new \"working\" coparent relationship. Would be hard even if there weren\'t strong emotions of disbelief and betrayal. It is hard... but it is absolutely worth it. Good luck!
