The Journey

I read an article the other day about the grief journey. It said that even when you are feeling like you are backing up it is all part of it and you are still progressing. it's just part of the journey.
It helped a lot because I have been so sad lately. My worries about the future, my sadness and guilt over the loss of my child, my loneliness from feeling abandoned. Nothing is easy or ever will be in this life, I guess.
On the other hand I am so grateful I am not having to get up early, get all dressed up and go to work every day when it is in the 90's with high humidity. I have always had such a hard time tolerating heat and humidity. I have often wondered why I was born in Florida rather than Alaska.
Stay in the moment, Gina...you don't have to have it all figured out, you just have to breathe and make it through another day. You never know what a new day might bring unless you are around to experience it.
Thank you so much for reading my entries and especially for commenting on them. It makes me feel less alone and it really helps.

The article is so right on. I have been back and forth so often I feel like a ping pong ball! I still have days and always will.
You are definitely not alone.
It is ironic. I live in the North and I love heat and humidity and hate the cold! I spent a summer in Malaysia and loved it!

Yes, I think it will always be a roller coaster ride for us moms who have lost a child. We will never ever get over the loss of our beloved children. We just move forward. I\'ve taken many steps forward and many steps back throughout these past several years, but fortunately the steps forward have outnumbered the steps back and the high points are outnumbering the low points of this journey.

You are so right on about staying in the moment Gina. No, we don\'t have to have it all figured out, and we truly never know what each new day may bring.

And Gina, please know that you are not alone here. We are all here for healing and lifting up ourselves and each other.

Love and hugs,
Diane

We each walk down the same road but experience things differently, we have each other like a family. Thank goodness for our FMO family

Yes, all apart of the journey...and sometimes knowing what we are experiencing is \"notmal\" helps! None of us knows what the future holds but I do know I am happier than I ever thought I could be after Alex passed. So there is hope Gina that one tomorrow will lead you to that happiness too. One day at a time. Love to you

It feels as if that article found YOU at the perfect right time. I\'m continually amazed at how that happens and indeed grateful to for the reminder that no matter where we are on this path it is where we need to BE for today.

Each day finding something to feel gratitude for keeps my heart open and ready to receive even more. It\'s interesting how that works that when I\'m armored, closed and shut down these kinds of moments have a harder time entering in. Opening to the possibility of healing is ours.

One breath, moment and day at a time.

There certainly seems to be an ebb and flow of our grief journey. Doing relatively well for a time and then a trigger will set us back. Feeling of intense loss I feel is because the love is so strong for our beloved child. I have come along way in the 5 years since my son\'s accident. Yet can slip back in a heartbeat to the missing and yearning for days gone by.
Your experience is unique for you. Yet we are similar.
The LOVE still grows . . .

Debbie

You know what? I never read grief books - I just think whatever I feel at any given moment is how I am supposed to feel. Up, down, sad, angry, okay, happy - whatever day, it\'s alright for me to be that way. It\'s alright for you, too! No, nothing is easy but you are not alone and sometime there really is strength in numbers. You take care ~ Joanna x

I still have weeks of being so down, I can\'t even make myself get out of bed. I become a hermit in my house and do not want to go anywhere. You would think I would have a shiny, clean house, but I don\'t. I have clutter everywhere and dust every where. It took me a week to unpack, from my Texas trip. One step forward, then twenty back. It never ends. It is almost six years for me.
I think you are doing great. One step at a time and breathe.
