The fuck is your life. Answer it.
I stole this one from Cheryl Strayed.
I use gambling to escape from negative feelings. But I realize now that the frustration, the irritation, the anxiety, the nervousness, the "I can't take it anymore!" level of stress -- that discomfort and pain IS my life. It always has been a part of my life, and it always will be a part of my life. It's not the bullies when I was a child and it's not the need to do well in school as a teenager and it's not the same pressure as in my early 20's. But it's the same feeling.
The fuck is your life. Answer it without gambling. Answer it in positive ways, with exercise, with music, with friends, with family, with walks in nature, with reading, with being in positive places.

I just watched \"Wild\" last night.
You are so right that we need to answer the question of what our life is in positive ways. My life is so bad right now. I gambled from payday loan money last night and don\'t have two dimes in my wallet today.
Didn\'t pay my mortgage this month or other important bills .
I have debt collectors calling morning to night and I still gambled yesterday with money I had to borrow. How FUCKED up is that?
The sad part of using gambling, or anything else, to block or numb the uncomfortable feelings is that it numbs all feeling including the joy. So glad we are getting healthier.
Sararose99 - you\'re not fucked up, you\'re just in pain. And whether this addiction is your means of escape, excitement, self-punishment, self-sabotage, expression of self-hatred, or something else entirely, what it really means is you need to love yourself more. Love yourself enough to call a friend and confess you need help. Love yourself enough to self-ban. Love yourself enough to say enough is enough and never go again, one day at a time. Love yourself enough to get into therapy and to find what is wrong in your life.
Qwit4good - me too!
