the butterfly
I read today the story of a man who observed a butterfly struggling to get out of its cocoon. There was a tiny hole at the top of the cocoon and the butterfly strove desperately to squeeze its body through it.
The sympathetic man slit open the cocoon and set the butterfly free. To his disappointed the butterfly was bloated and its wings weak. It died without ever taking flight.
The moral of the story is this, in its struggle to pass through the tiny hole at the top of the cocoon, fluid is forced from the butterfly's body into its wings, so that when it bursts free it is strong and streamlined and ready for flight. Without that struggle it never becomes strong enough to take off.
I sincerely believe my DS friends, that if we keep that light burning within our souls, we too will take flight. Perhaps it is our fate to remain trapped in these bodies for the rest of our lives, perhaps now we are developing our spiritual wings, our intellectual wings, our heart wings. Who knows how we are meant to take flight.
But I believe we will.
Blessings my DS friends. I'm still unemployed, still having those recurring stomach/leg issues, still crashing more than anything else but I am also optimistic. I feel a change coming in the air and I'm looking forward to flying.

Hope that change will be here for you very soon and with it will come more freedom from suffering and new spiritual realizations. These physical bodies cause problems for every living entity in every species of life.Just different degrees of suffering depending on the type of body and circumstances of one\'s life.No one is immune to this.As we all know, these bodies are very temporary but we as eternal souls never cease to be.The purpose of life is to become self realized and understand our true original identity and where we have come from.Despite our struggle in these ill bodies and all our physical disabilities and limitations , a spiritual awakening is achievable.Of course that can mean different things to many people. To me personally, it means to reestablish my lost loving relationship with God..unlimited God. Thanks for the butterfly story Max.What a short life that was hey.I don\'t believe in chance really Max.I believe we have all met here on DS as part of our spiritual journey.I have learnt so much from you precious kind souls and you have given me so much comfort. You have so much strength and determination Max and I believe you are going to be just fine and achieve many things in your life.Love to you always my dear Jamaican friend.xo
How appropriate, how often do we feel like caterpillars inching along with a long road ahead. Here\'s hoping we each find our way out of our chrysalis soon.
Thank you, MaxPB, for that inspiring story which proves there is a reason and value in our struggles. Blessings to you.
