Thank God for Today

For the past five years,I've lived in a group home.I didn't move here by choice;my oldest sister, who then had my power of attorney, painfully made the decision because she saw my bipolar illness worsening to the extent that I couldn't take care of myself, handle money, pay bills etc. At first I hated her for doing this, but I truly love her now and am deeply grateful to God for the "life lessons" He taught me here. When you have 15 roommates, you HAVE to learn how to get along with people.I call it my "re-parenting experience".Again,God took a situation the enemy tried to use to bring about my destruction (not physically but spiritually, because of the bitterness I held toward my sister) and wove it into a plan for His glory and my eventual good.
I still have difficult days, like anyone with any kind of chronic illness. But I think I understand now why I'm so very sensitive. And it can be a two-edged sword, because my sensitivity has given me great compassion for other people.I can honestly say that without the problems caused by Dad,I wouldn't be able to be as closely attuned to the feelings of others, nor would I appreciate how wonderful my Father God has been to me all of my life.Once,He showed me that every time Dad made me cry,He wept for me.It has made Him and me very close. And that's the most important thing in life - it IS life!I praise Him;I truly do.

I am trying to catch up on journals. I am proud of what I have read here.

You see, I have learned one very important thing. Holding a grudge against anyone only hurts you. The other person rarely knows about the grudge. You are hurting yourself by harboring negative thoughts.

Be positive. Be upbeat. This keeps you happy. In good spirits. This can only be good for you.

Keep up the good work!!!
