Some Updates & a Dilemma
I heard from the RE and am super happy that all 3 embies made it to freezing! We now have 5 little totsicles (thank you, Laurie for my fave new word). All 5 are the same grade: B/C. Apparantly, my clinic never hands out A grades, so the best they give is a B. I'm not sure if I should feel concerned that these are B/C? I really have no idea what this means in terms of quality, but I'm assuming its not too bad since all 3 eggs fertilized and made it to freezing?
I also saw a new doctor yesterday regarding my gallbladder. I wasn't feeling very confident since my previous doctor and surgeon were not in agreement if I should actually remove my gallbladder or not. Seems they were not feeling 100% certain that my gallstones were actually symptomatic or not and now that I've been doing well with the meds they prescribed for the reflux (omeprazole) they think its possible surgery isn't necessary. So anyway, the new dr. I saw yesterday is one of the top in his field and was highly recommended, and he thinks I should not have surgery, that we should just move ahead with the transfer! He was really reassuring and informative, and I totally trust him. Also, he told me both his boys were IVF babies and to be very encouraged by the process!
So the new plan is to see my RE on CD3, but we won't do the transfer until the following cycle, so probably mid-June for the transfer. I found out that I need to have a hysteroscopy to remove some polyps and a very small fibroid that could cause an issue with implantation. And of course, the timing for a June transfer will really suck since it is right in the beginning of my busiest time at work. I haven't told anyone that we are doing IVF, or even TTC for that matter, and I really do not want to tell anyone. I know I won't be able to handle it if it doesn't work, or worse, if I m/c and everyone at the office knows. But, I'm afraid I might have to come clean because there is no way I will be able to take anytime off for transfer, and I know work will be super stressful for me then. I'm considering saying that I will need some "female" surgery and leave it at that, but I really don't have a good plan as of yet. So any suggestions on how I should handle this are more than welcome :)
I'm excited but nervous. I have waited soooo long for this, its been a year of setbacks working towards IVF and now that we are in the thick of it, I'm sooo nervous it won't work. I want to much to be optimistic, but it scares the hell out of me at the same time!!!
Hoping you are all doing well. Sending much love, luck and appreciation, as always, to my amazing support system and wishes for positive outcomes for you all. xoxo

I\'m so happy all 3 went into freezing, yay! 5 all together is fantastic! I so excited and hopeful for you! Great news you won\'t need to remove your gallbladder either!!
I think 5 is great! I don\'t know much about the grading system either... But please don\'t worry too much- it only takes 1!
Yay for not having to have surgery and being able to move forward to transfer! Tell people at work as much or as little as you want. I think saying you have surgery is enough and if they press it say female surgery and if you work with men, thats all they will want to know ;) Good luck!
Fantastic! 5 sounds really good! I have only recently looked into the grading system thing out of curiosity and B is actually really good. A is basically perfect, so I understand why your clinic would hesitate to grade any of them A with those standards. Super news about your gall bladder...sounds like an amazing doctor!!!
I agree that the female operation excuse would be the best idea for explaining your need to take time off from work. Unfortunately, when I tried that excuse, my boss got very nosy (also a female) and asked for more specifics, so I told her I was having a cyst removed from my ovary, when I was actually having my ER. I am not scheduled to work on the day of my transfer, so I don\'t need an excuse for that one (thank goodness).
So excited that you are able to move forward with IVF...good luck!!
Great update!!! My embies were all B\'s as well....no worries there :-) YAY to not having to have the gallbladder operation....and being able to hopefully transfer in June!! I think the female operation is a good idea too!! My excuse was always that I had an appointment and technically they can\'t ask. Although I did tell my supervisor when I was being monitored because I needed to be monitored with US/Bloodwork.....but I\'m sure you could come up with some excuse!!
YAY.....so glad you\'ll be able to transfer in June hun!! HUGS to that!
I Am so excited for you!! YAY on the totsicles (I love that word too...yay laurie!) and yay for not needing gallbladder surgery. i\'m also super excited for your hysteroscopy, because that means they\'re getting everything perfect for a great transfer! Hugs!
Great news, glad you don\'t have to get surgery!! How cute \"totsicles\"!?
