Smile Monday

I haven't seen anyone do this in a while but I am going to try this today, start the week with thoughts of gratitude...one thing that was almost always worrisome when we were younger was money, or lack thereof. Now with my husband;s generous retirement and the fact that we live modestly and below our means we have been able to save up a nice nest egg. When I remember how bad it was in those early years of our marriage I see that this is a true blessing. I don't even have to work. I probably need to, for the distraction and social interaction, it's a choice and not a necessity. So for that I am grateful.

Yes, I am also grateful that I was able to retire after working almost 40 years and struggling financially for much of it.

I\'m trying hard not to take things for granted these days and to be grateful and count my blessings but that\'s still a work in progress. Some days I\'m more successful than other days.

I like your Smile Monday and starting the week with thoughts of gratitude. I\'m going to do the same. I have a lot to be thankful for when I think about it. It\'s just that the inner sadness and missing my son gets the better of me many times.

Thank you for the encouragement Gina!

Love and Peace,
Diane

Yes, Barbara began this with Green Smiley Monday as a way to jump start our gratitude muscles and help us to remember that there is always something to find gratitude for. Thank you, Gina, for the reminder and for sharing your gratitude. :)

I am deeply grateful that for the dream of our daughter and her Littles being able to join us happened and with such ease. Like Wayne Dyer who used to begin his day before his feet touched the ground with a, \"Thank you, thank you, thank you.\" As I do my daily walk/meditation I say the same thing. Thank YOU for this day and please let me find a way to be present to ALL of it. Not always easy to do, yet a choice that I do have.

Enjoy the security that your nest egg brings and hoping you can do a few fun things with it as well. Perhaps a vacation??

Loving care dear Gina, and an attitude of gratitude can carry each of us far and I appreciate your reminder. Thank YOU, thank you, thank YOU!

It is good to find gratitude in our life. I am grateful for my job. It has kept me sane and also driven me crazy ( oxymoron for sure). With hubby homebound I am the bread winner, so life is a challenge...
