Sleep study
I did not take meds last night. I am completely off the ami, so they don't really have an effect on my sleep anyway. I got to the study location at 8:30 and they hooked me up at 9. It was distracting to read, or do much of anything, after that. I laid down and got connected just before 11. This reminds me of the EEGs I used to have with all the itchy paste. I had a dog of a time getting comfortable. They don't want me sleeping on my stomach, but that's how I'm comfortable. Finally found a side position, but it took close to an hour to fall asleep. They woke me up 1.5 hours later to attach a cpap mask (it would seem that apnea IS an issue). Then another hour going back to sleep. Then they got me up at 6. I could have easily slept another few hours. Then had to start the day by driving home and showering to get the gunk out. So, naturally, I'm more tired now than when I got up at 6. But I'm at work. We should get results by the middle of next week.
As soon as that comes in and things get settled, I'm making my follow-up appt with the neuro psych. He has given me the most hope of anyone lately and I'm eager to pursue that possibility of treatment.
Right now I'm reviewing my schedule for the day and thinking that I might need to go back home. I am so tired after last night. Not at all what I expected--but probably should have.
Fatigue: 7
Pain: 6
Fog: 5 or more

Well, at least the sleep study is DONE and you can move on with that information in hand next week. Sorry you\'re so fogged and fatigued and hurting. :(
Be well, Jenna.
Thanks, hon. The hours are crawling by, but I am thinking of heading home. We\'ll see if I can clear things up a bit before lunch, though. If not, well, going home early isn\'t the worst thing I\'ve done. Right? At least I have the knowledge that this is done and something good is going to come out of it.
Yes, you\'ve gotten through another phase and that is great. It is behind you and you are moving forward. Go home and take a good nap. You need to catch up from all the sleep disruption you had last night. I hope you can do that and brava for getting through another test. I hope the test proves fruitful and gives you some workable answers.
Well, your bravery in getting the study done is inspiring me to ask about one myself. Obviously, you needed the study. If you have sleep apnea, that is really something you want to get treated. My mom has that and uses the CPAP. I have no idea how she can sleep with that thing on, but I guess you get used to it. Hope your migraine cleared up.
tri-make sure you go to a center that looks at more than just sleep apnea. We didn\'t actually think I had apnea, so this was a shock. I still have to deal with what to do about the sleep onset issues. Make sure your center looks at all aspects of sleep so you get the full range of information that you need.
I\'m glad the study is done and I should be getting my cpap sometime this week. Hubby has had one for most of a year and it has done wonders for him.
