Schizoaffective

My pdoc recently put me on Abilify.  I had a rough time going on it.  Got all the side effects.  I'm feeling better and worse now that the therapeutic effects outweigh the side effects.  The good and bad news is the same.  I don't hear voices anymore and I miss the voices I don't hear.  I talked to my wife about it and she's encouraged by my lack of delusions that someone poisoned my meds.  I'll take the good with the bad because I can get used to the positive changes but I could never get used to the negative symptoms that ruled my life.  I feel like I'm in charge again and that's a big responsibility.

Glad you are on a new drug, and that it seems to be helping. Often I do the same calculations of side effects to therapeutic effects. I wish my wife was more supportive. I see that you also suffer from PTSD. My TDoc has been working on this for the past several sessions. It makes it hard to go when you know that you will be "sitting" with your worst memories for the next hour. She even has me coming twice a week; I think that I need to cut that back to once a week.

Stay Safe.
