scared

things have not been good. dad went in for emergency surgery, had 2 feet of small intestimes removed, that went well but after surgery it all went t shit. he suffered a heart attack and has pneumonia, he is almost 93, it is so hard this is not the dad i knew before the surgery. i have not been eating well, luckily work has been good and i have been able to have the wek off. he is in ICU and today they are going to go in with a tube and remove over 1 liter of fliud. it is so hard to see him, he had a rally one day and spoke like he always has thennthe next day i came in and he was put back on forced oxygen by mask. he has yet to be out of bed, cant walk, he will be in for a long time, if he makes it out of this. the cardiolgist isnt hopeful. i cant bear to think of losing him, he has been my rock. one good thing, we found someone to tae care of mom, we all have been running around trying to find or give care to her. we have a room lined up at an assited living when time is there. going there today with mom so she can see it. she called everyone and told them we are dumping her there the next day and we have been getting phone cals about it, not good ones. she is not going in now, we are getting it arranged and set up. tough week and a half

Ann, I'm here for you. I feel like crab that I didn't pick up the phone the other day but I was setting up my health insurance on the phone. I have been praying for you and your family. Call me! I'm about to call you. Hugs

diane, do not feel bad!!! i didnt know you called as the phone is off in ICU and yes to your question. when i left last night he was breathing calmly. he has what is called sundowners syndrome, when the late afternoon evening comes he gets very agigated, frustrated, he wants to go home, that was all he was saying when i first got there in the afternoon. he was saying it to everyone. it doesnt matter how many times you try and explain he justs repeats it. one day at a time . hugs diane

That's a hard hit for a man at age 93. I pray he has peace and you and your family do. As for your mom it's probably best for her to get assistance . She sounds like she doesn't have realistic expectations. And if people want to call you to complain then tell them to take on the responsibility and take care of things, seriously.
Hang in there
