Sad day
This is an extremely sad and dark day for me. On this day sixteen years ago the best friend that I ever had died. Everybody thinks it's silly that I remember and grieve on this day because they say she was just a dog. After all my friends abanded me, and my loneliness was some of the worse I had ever felt, she was the only one I had. She was my savior and greatly contributed to saving my life. She was always there for me and always knew when I was struggling and never wanted to leave my side. In fact, she would sit on my bed at night and cry during my 5th stay a at psych hospital. I was so excited when the hospital staff let her come and visit me during my stay. I was destroyed the day she was put down. I'm starting to tear up just while writing this and instead of totally breaking down on this day, I try and remember all of the many great memories I have of her. I'd like to think she's looking on me and still helping me out and giving me strength. I love you girl!

Big hug for you Mich.... Not everyone understands the joy and fabulous relationship that we can have with animals and those that can't surely miss a lot
I am so sorry that you're feeling grief over losing your beloved pet.... It's wonderful that she still gives you strength.... I feel the same love for my animals.... They are my beloved friends..... xo
Did you ever get another dog Mich?... You wouldn't be replacing her.... There are so many dogs/pets in need of a good home.... It reads like you could give one a second chance and she your love with a new friend.... xo
Thanks, SunCloudJD. Actually, I do have another dog now. She's a another golden that I rescued, and she's a really great dog.
You are not alone. I grieve all my dogs that I have lost. Each year gets better. I have four that are buried on my property that I talk to every time I walk the trails. Glad you have another bestie.
There is a group called Daily Pet Appreciation. People post about their fur babies, provide advice & great tips. Take a look. Hugs!
Guess what? If your so called Friends ignored you when you needed them, then they are not worth your while at all. You are way too good a person for that crap. You already have a solid friend in me. I promise you that and will not run away when you need help because ALL of us do need help indeed, at one time or another, don't we? I'm here for you. Big Hug from me!!
I am soo sorry friend. I can relate. I had cats since I was 14 and had about 7 of them. It never got easy when they passed and I always think about them. It's the hardest part to lose a family member that means the world to us. I do too believe they are looking out for us and being out Guardian Angels. Continue to celebrate her it gives us love and joy knowing they are no longer in pain. Like a birthday of new life. ♡
