Response to question in APA style

It is interesting to find someone who understands Army Basic Training, was really basic training for life.
Like you, I remember the first lesson of Basic Training was to stay organized and be prepared. Time was easier to manage when you knew what you were looking for was where it belonged. It seemed less time was wasted looking for things: Socks and underwear rolled in the drawer, rifle at the ready.
Having your family available, and willing to support you in your quest, is
something I wish I had. Never having been a real military family there has always been a
lack of that “basic training” in mine. Yet I know organization and time management aren’t
the only things needed for success, the basics can only take you so far.
One thing Basic Training gave us as well as organization was knowledge, and our
careers were built on accumulating more knowledge. Your choice of returning to school
shows you have retained that valuable lesson. I encourage you to keep your mind open to
any, and all new information that comes your way; both basic and beyond.
“Experience teaches us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting
themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession.” (General
Washington, G.). Good luck on returning to the basics of life. “Hoohah” it is an Army thing.

I learnt in Basic training that I would always fail bed making, they tried to break us if they could. I was raised by Methodists so the harsh discipline didn\'t worry me, just the unfairness of it all, the injustice didn\'t sit well with me.
I got my friend, one bed over to make my bed every day after a while, I made hers and it passed inspection every day. My bed, which she had made, passed inspection every day. Learnt then what was what.
