Rambling-Extra dose

So far my plan to get back to journaling on a regular basis is failing miserably.  it seems I only make it back here when I am having a rough time.  My heart is funky today and I am having some anxiety.  I tried to ignore it last night and thought it was going to be ok this morning but it's back and I ended up taking an extra dose.
School is going ok this semester. I bought my first raspberry pi but don't have it up and running yet.  I hope to get linux loaded on the sd card this weekend.  I also bought myself an android tablet:

I know spending that kind of money was probably dumb since my boyfriend is still not working and we are behind on the rent.  that may be part of my anxiety in addition to my heart issue.  My boyfriend doesn't help really but I guess I should not complain.  He tells me I work hard and deserve to have some things that I want.  He is very sweet.
that part has been going ok.  He has not been drinking and we have been getting along very well.  We had a very nice valentine's day together.
they officially changed my title at work to systems administrator.  They said they would review salaries in the area and make adjustments...yeah right.  they came back with a 3% increase.  according to a survey by Robert Half I am still at least 40% below what I should be paid in my field.  Still, after the years I have been there I am now up to three weeks vacation a year and the thought of starting over does not seem appealing.  I guess until my boyfriend finds work I will keep the status quo.
My real father continues to email me on a regular basis.  He seems to forget all the misery and struggle he has caused us.  I continue to be friendly since I am still not sure what to make of this.  He did send a couple of hundred dollars at the holidays which was a help.  Guess I will get busy and see if my anxiety goes away.

I get ya about the salaries in IT.

I was doing well but not like I should have been for my experience. I had a boss that took all the credit and gave none out. I never got an increase in rank, title, or pay...other than \"pool\" for the whole facility...in 17 years.

It\'s feast or famine in IT...and working as a sub-contractor seems to be more and more prevalent. Those outsourcing companies are in business for their interests and not your or anybody else\'s. I think you are going to see a downturn in IT because there are so many specialties, so much vendor based and expensive training that goes well beyond a college degree and, even at that, there\'s a large body of people wanting in...

I\'m just so proud of all you have accomplished. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself lots and lots of love -- you deserve it.

Just journal when you feel up to it -- that is what it is all about anyway -- yes?

((hugs))
