Rainy night new year thoughts...
I'm sitting here staring at the Christmas tree for the last time, as it and the final holiday decor will come down tomorrow, officially capping my holiday season.
Generally an uber sad time for me, this year was very different for the first time in a long time. I didn't get my typical post-holiday blues.
Sure, I am struggling with my post-viral laryngeal issues and at times, it's debilitating. Sure, the anxiety & despair I have experienced with in the last year have been the worst I have ever dealt with. At times, it seemed like I had officially spun out of control and couldn't see the light in the tunnel.
2020 was a poop-fest for most of us. I can't proclaim that I've had it worse than anyone else. It's certainly not a competition; everyone owns their own sorrows.
Reframing, exercising my thoughts (hour by hour if need be) and prayer have moved me forward and have given me hope. Perspective. Insight even.
It's the end of the holiday season and end of a long, long year, but it's a rebirth as well. A new year. A new attitude. A new hope.

Thanks for your kind words on my last post...greatly appreciate it. I agree with you, this is a very weird season...it is almost like we have all had a "blue Christmas" all year long. And yes, each person has to deal with their own cross to bear and sorrow.
I'm not sure what is coming, but I'm trying to focus on the day at hand and love on the ones right next to me. I too having been praying a lot and been memorizing scripture from the bible. I believe that a part of what I am dealing with has a spiritual component to it.
Also...I sent you a friends request...I'll ask you some other questions through DM.
I really feel like if I could clear the brain fog and fatigue, I'd could handle the anxiety much better.
Talk soon and have a blessed day!
Keeping to the positive and writing out the way the last year has been is healing.
Preach. Amen! I'm following the words "rebirth," "new attitude," and "new hope." The bore is with our leaders. Are they listening?? Whew! I wonder.
So sorry that taking Christmas down is a downer for most of us. What I usually do is try to keep the Spirit alive by watching Christmas movies and shows or listening to the Christmas sounds of the season occasionally. I have a place on top of my china cabinet that's always decorated, and this reminds me of the secret of the season, which is joy and peace on earth, goodwill to men. Ah, many things are interesting when it comes to Christmas. Praise the Lord.
..thanks for sharing, Dee. God is good. And happy New Year to you and your family!
