pretty girl day
Crashed before I got a chance to post this but I want to now because we have so many more negative days than positive ones. Its good to celebrate the positive.
I had a PRETTY GIRL day last week. I asked my sis to send me some shoes because shoe shopping has been so hard and she sent me a pair of cute wedges (which I cant wear) and a pair of BUTT UGLY flats. So that was a bust. So I happen to be driving by a shoe store and see cute shoes on sale and bought them on the spot.. well actually I bought 2 pairs, one of which is size 10 (I wear 8), I was that desperate.
Anyhoo, there is a boutique across the street from my office and they have a bargain bin I have been meaning to go through but am usually too tired. So passed by on my way to the pharmacy, reached into the bin, pulled something out and bought it.
Surprise, surprise, got home and found I'd bought a beautiful white wrap dress that just makes me feel like a southern belle. Pair that with my leopard print sale shoes and I was feeling like the prettiest girl in town. I tell you my 30 dollar outfit made me feel like a million.
BTW : The use of the term girl is meaningful as well. At the start of my CFS journey I gained 60-70lbs and my hair turned almost totally white. I'm just 44 but people often mistake me for a grandmother and make comments about middle age. I hate looking older than my age when my friends look like they haven't aged a day in 20 years. I have 2 sisters over 40 and one looks like a 24yr old playboy bunny and the other looks like a teenager. Aargh! I love them but don't take any pics with em.
So it was nice to have a day, when I was looking and feeling good, my white dress went well with my white hair, I had a spring in my step and felt like a girl again.
Wishing for you my DS friends, many pretty girl days (TL if you're reading this ...lol).

Good for you pretty girl!!! Isn\'t it nice to have these days when we can and feel a lil like our old selves?!?! I had a pretty girl day before my little Arty passed. Wanted some pics of us together so I put on make up. I remember my mouth trembling when I tried to smile. Geez. You know you have CFS when that happens.
Hoping many more pretty girl days for you too!! Hugs...
I\'m so glad you bought those shoes and gussied up and looked like a pretty girl!! We really do get ripped off when we get this illness. We don\'t get to work out anymore, our muscles turn sloppy and weak! I\'m 64, and just this year started that arm flappy thing that happens to older women. Actually, I\'ve seen women in their forties with the wing span problem. I simply don\'t care.
I make sure that at least three times a week, I put on make up and get out of my sweat pants and shirt and into jeans simply for my husbands sake. The poor man has to look at me. I\'m sure he\'s seen enough of this ashen face. I like to have pretty girl days for him.....and I like to do it for ME.
We count, ya know! Yes Us~! WE COUNT. We may not have the best bods in town, but we are strong INSIDE, and that\'s the kind of prettiness people see in us. And they want it!! xoxo
Big congrats on your \"pretty girl day\". Those are too few and too far between for us, aren\'t they? We have to fight for the things that seemed so simple BC (before cfs). I met a lady with white hair last week ---- long white hair with dark undertones ----- gorgeous!
Go maxie baby in your leopard shoes !! So happy you were feeling good about yourself.Hope you didn\'t walk out of them if they were size 10.Guess you had the size 8 on and saving the bigger ones for when you grow up, LOL !! Seriously though, we girls do deserve our pamper days for sure. You know that song \"Girls just gotta have fun \" Can\'t remember who sings it sorry.I have days where I look so bad when I\'m crashed badly, that I worry my husband just might become a missing person, or have a heart attack when he looks at me.So of course I hide his glasses whenever I can.And then he says I\'m beautiful, ha ha. I do get my hair coloured, although the last time I tried I fainted on the floor and got carted off by the ambo.I wear makeup sometimes too, for my hubby, but also for me.Anyway I think that all of my DS friends are just beautiful.\"pretty hearts of gold \"
i can feel from your light heart that you glowed all dolled up!!!!!!!! we all need those \"pretty girl\" days...........i have white hair like you........still adjusting to it after almost 4 years.........i am still surprised when i look in the mirror and see that snowy head of hair.........and then i think get over it girl, you\'ve GOT HAIR!!!! and that settles me down............this is a very sassy feisty girl power post and i just wanna wrap my arms around you and tell you that you are awesome!!!! glad you had a gooooooooood day...........glad your found a pretty dress, some cute shoes and did your thang.................mad love to ya sweet Max...................God Bless .......hugs & prayers!!!!!!!!
