Post op
11pm. Cant sleep. Ironic since my fear was sleeping too much. Doc gave me zoloft to prevent crashing. I forgot that zoloft also causes insomnia.
in pain. Doc agreed to give minimum dosages, apparently not enough. Three post op doses so far, none have stopped the pain.
chewing on ice cubes. Am allowed only a few. Have not been allowed any food/drink since 10tuesday. Not even water.
hoping the petidin kicks in soon so i can get some sleep.
as usual, things did not go quite as planned. I was prepped for start time of 11am, doc did not show till 3:30.
While waiting, my roomie had lots of visitors. The topic .. People who had died. People i knew, small world. I had to leave the room. When i returned the topic had changed, this time funerals. Really!?! I spent about an hour sitting in the visitors waiting room. Then the fatigue set in.
so i tried to catch a nap but then they brought me to theatre and prepped. Then i waited another hour for the doc to show. So i went in exhausted and in pain.
On the plus side three different staff members prayed for me. Its a church run hospital. I appreciated every prayer.
havent spoken to the doc yet but am told everything went smoothly. Nite nite ds friends.

I have no doubt that with some serious rest you\'ll be up and powering again. You are such a determined person, not much could hold our Jamaican wonder woman down.Lovely that the staff prayed for you , how special is that hey.Big hugs and healing to you xoxo
I just this second commented on yesterday\'s journal!!!! I do hope you\'ve gotten some pain relief by now, Max. And some rest.
I\'ll pray again!! xoxo
Sound like the way things usually go on a hospital visit: hurry up and wait, more time to get nervous ... as if you weren\'t already!
Hope they can give you something that will safely relieve the pain!
sweetie............hope they were able to help you and get your pain levels way way way down........praying for you, that you can rest, that you get to eat soon, that you are well looked after, that the roomie and guests talk about happier more uplifting topics, please tell the lovely ones who prayed for you at hospital that your DS friends think they are lovely lovely angels, now as for you dear heart, please get some rest, let your eyelids close.......they say if you rug your earlobe with your thumb and index finger for one minute it will help you get to sleep.............but only do this if it does not cause you pain........softest hugs, wish i could visit you for real, but i am there is spirit.......hugs, hugs, hugs! you have been very brave.......so proud of you, this was not easy and you have much courage.......xoxo
