Pink Hat

I was at the women's march in DC with my neice.  I meet up with 4 other women and we,  along with a half a million other women - marched.  It was, in a word - awesome!  The days following the march have been rough.  What would I think would happen? a miracle?   First, I have a ton of conservative friends and family complaining that Madonna (she was one of the speakers) should go to jail , that one of the march cordinators is muslim and how ironic is that, my vegan friends complained about the "pussy cat hats",   But the biggest disappointment was from my friends on facebook that are WOC who were angered by the march and "where were we during the BLMatters protests."  They are right. we all need to do more.   But it was still hurtful to hear.   I decided to stay away from facebook for three days.  I find myself ready to battle (in an intellectual way for the most part) with any pro-trumping views and it gets exhausting. I find myself very interested in pro-trumpers and understanding why they think certain ways.   I also realize I need to stay away from news.  I didn't realize how triggering Trump is and  I was slowly slipping into a sort of depression. This morning,   I could not get out of bed.  I felt like I was made of lead.   it was a good idea to take a sick day - relax -get back into meditating - back to daily strength -back into doing things that help me feel better.

Tomorrow I have my first meeting with a "life coach" who is a DID survivor.  Her method in healing is thru journal writing.  She believes one should write "through" the inner child instead of about the inner child.  So instead of "I felt hurt today" or whatever, you set yourself into the hurt and right from it.  Should be interesting.

I was there in DC too - hey, maybe we passed each other!

It's all too much right now, isn't it? I just can't cope with it all. I rarely go on FB. Luckily, I don't know any pro-Trump people in my day to day life. But apparently the country is full of them. I just feel they're battling the wrong villains. I am struggling to not freak out myself.

Your meeting with the life coach and her approach sound fascinating to me. I can't wait to hear more about it!

Good for you for going on the march. Shows great solidarity.

Trump horrifies me in many ways, and I'm not privvy to all of the terrible things he has said, and policy he is now making. I'm British and he scares me, so I can only imagine it is being American. It defies logic and emotion to me. I'm staggered.

I too am fascinated to hear how it goes with the life coach.

Hope your weekend goes well xx

Thank you for marching. I wanted to march in support but find it too overwhelming to be in crowds. I watched the march and cried the entire time. It was a beautiful thing. I especially liked Gloria Steinhem's reminder that things have gotten better. Obama is alive. Hillary and Bernie are both still alive.

I had to unfollow three people on Facebook after the march because of their ridiculous comments. One wise person commented on how the ridiculous comments are the reason for marching. There is so much progress that still needs to be made. It's time.

Again, thank you for marching.
