Pain from heXX
So that migraine that started last Tuesday has returned every. single. day. since. To be sure, it goes away, but it always comes back. Sunday night I couldn't sleep b/c just laying my head down made it hurt so much worse. I've taken an insane amount of ibuprofen in the last week--to the point that my stomach is very angry with me. Today is the first day I've been back to the office in I don't know how long. I have a status update with the boss today and I expect a chewing out over it. Yay. Thank goodness the meeting is before lunch. I hate dreading meetings for a long time.
I did sleep last night, thank goodness. It wasn't long enough (is it ever?), but it was good sleep. Praise God! I have been so inconsistent with my meds b/c the days have just blurred together with the migraine. I reset the pill box last night so I will make the effort to keep up with them. I feel like only the cymbalta is that important, since it's the only one working for my CFS. But I need to stay on track.
Today I will be calling my regular doc about a migraine preventative. I am desperate here.
Then call the neuro psych and find out how soon I can return for the next consultation. This guy seems like my best bet for making progress with the CFS or disability--whichever can be helped first.
Then more calls for DS's counseling. Still struggling with getting answers on this.
Been at work for 30 minutes and I'm ready for a nap.

Oh, honey, I have had those migraines that hurt so much you can\'t even lie down. Everything hurts! I had one for 9 days in a row once. My insurance wouldn\'t cover a shot, but if yours will, you should go to the neurologist and get one to stop the migraine cycle. It sounds like total misery. These constant migraines are a sign that you have to slow this down and rest. Take care of you, please. Love and blessings.
Oh, you poor thing; I\'m so sorry you\'re suffering like this! I\'ve never had a migraine, so have no idea what it\'s like; I can only imagine and I\'m sure that falls far short. Heather\'s right; you *have* to slow down and take care of YOU more... All my best wishes and blessings to you, dear...
Thanks to both of you for the support. I made it to the doc this morning, not my usual one, but I wasn\'t being choosy. She gave me a Tordal shot and it does seem to be working. I\'ve got some hints that some nausea is coming along for the ride, but that\'s small potatoes compared to the migraine.
Just as I was getting out of the doc\'s office, my youngest son called from school to say that his stomach hurts really bad and can I come get him. This is my first day back in the office in days and I\'m supposed to meet with my manager this afternoon, so wasn\'t ready to go home. Thankful that DH can step in and pick him up this time.
I\'ve got a call in to the neuro this morning and they are going to let me know how soon I can/should come back in for follow-up. I\'m not sure if he wanted me to wait until the sleep stuff is resolved or not. I am hoping *not*.
In later judgment, fog is about 5 today. Mind keeps wandering due to exhaustion, but when I get started on a task I can complete it.
Still waiting for the neuropscych to call back about the follow up. I\'ll call again in the morning if no answer this afternoon.
The shot helped the migraine, but not my stomach. I am rather nauseated--but still glad I got it. Will call tomorrow about setting up a separate appointment for preventative meds. With my low blood pressure, we\'re probably looking at anti-convulsants as the best option. irony at its best.
So sorry to hear you are dealing with these migraines. I have never had one, but one of my daughters suffers from migraines and I have seen how painful and debilitating they can be. I\'m glad to hear you got some pain relief form the Tordal shot - now I hope your stomach settles down. Take care.
I use Imitrex for migraines. I\'d be a basket case without it. Ask your MD for it or for SOMETHING to help the migraines. You cannot live with those going untreated. The pain and anguish of them is too hard on your body to cope with. And I agree, you GOTTA get more rest.... Just saying......
Thanks! MB- yes, the stomach did finally settle down after I got home from work. It\'s not surprise really--my stomach does not get along with a lot of ibuprofen and doc said Tordal has similar effects. Feeling much better today.
Maris--I\'m making an appointment in half an hour (when doc opens) to talk preventives with her. I\'ve tried so many abortive treatments and they just don\'t work. Imitrex used to work for me, but not anymore--nor the other triptans. We\'ve tried so many different meds and none have a long lifespan of working--at least nothing that I can afford. Relpax had some promise, but three pills was so expensive and I can have as many as three migraines in a week, so it just wasn\'t possible. Good news is that preventives are almost all available via generic I think, so that should help.
