One from Rev. Peter Panagor

Oh, and there's this, which is what prompted me write in the first place:

Everyone Knows It's Windy

Nearly deaf since her teens, Wendy had surgeries, wore hearing aids and raised her children alone after her husband died. Her goal was to help her kids graduate from high school. Wendy worked long, hard hours to make that happen. Years passed. The children left home. Wendy lived alone. One day, she read about a new digital hearing aid that was reasonably priced if she could qualify as a low income individual. Wendy applied and was accepted. Wendy sat watching the birds through her window one morning as she had done for years, but now with the window ajar, she heard songbirds. She had loved that sound when she was a child, and dreamt of the day when she might hear it again, but that sunny morning she kept hearing a sound she could not place and did not remember. It was a strange noise she did not recognize. Wendy walked outside and looked up at the treetops. The trees and leaves were moving. For the first time in her life, she heard the wind in the trees. For Wendy, it was a miracle. Wind makes the same sound as one hand clapping, which is no sound at all. Wind makes noise when it strikes an object, like trees, or wires, or a building. Friction makes the sounds we name as wind. The evidence of God's Spirit is the same. Nobody sees or hears the Spirit. What we see, what we hear, are the changes Spirit forms in our lives. Let's Pray: Spirit of God, breeze through us, shape us, and change us. Amen.Today's Thought Is: Spirit of God, change me. Sources: Job 33:4John 3:6-8

Beautiful! I always say that I cannot control when the wind will blow, but I can set my sails to be ready for it. Hope you are doing OK, Jack. Many blessings.

Jack, thank you for the beautiful story and the reminder of the bigger picture out there.. I constantly have to remind myself that I am not in control of things - especially the weather! I use to try to control every aspect of my life and when the CF came on I was frustrated because I couldn\'t fix it. Now I\'ve learned to accept most of the time.
