Note to Self

I need to get my pot smoking under control.  I'm not too crazy with it, dont' get me wrong.  I rarely smoke more than one joint a day.  But I need to take days off, and I need to not smoke during the day.  I was doing ok just smoking after I was finished teaching at the end of the day around 8:30 pm....but that gave me the most insatiable munchies....so told myself, hey, I'll smoke in the morning!  it will get me inspired and also then i won't want to smoke at night.   well, of course it gets in the way of my motivation.....so, no, i am not going to give up pot.  i need that option of a headchange, i just do.  i just need to get it under control where it doesn't interfere with my motivation nor give me munchies late at night.  maybe i should make a schedule of when i can smoke............balance, balance, balance.  i feel so good right now though because for the past week i've been smoking pot kind of all day long.....and today i didnt' smoke at all and i feel so invigorated and energized.  doing yoga helped too....and i'm drinking some ginseng-green tea that i bought at the night bazaar last night....so yeah, i feel pretty awake, no cloudiness in my head.  pot is cool because it gives me a different perspective on things and often inspires me to dance, stretch, research, write or design.....however, it leaves a residue of sluggishness i feel...............................hmmmm......

I found my most creative days were when I didn't use drugs, including alcohol. I don't understand it.

The advent of Med Therapy was one of the more mind blowing aspects of my therapy experience. In 1972, when I started therapy, the country was a-flutter with the rash of prescription drug addiction. Most of the drugs being sold illegally were previously prescription drugs. Doctors were almost as fanatically anti-drug as I was in my attempt to escape the streets. I don't recall ever hearing the word, "Medication." A drug was a drug was a drug. I tried the prescription drugs on occasion, but was pretty fanatical in my anti-drug stance.

Fast forward a couple of decades and drugs/medication had become the go-to solution. I was busy with a young family and knew more about how the War on Drugs and Zero Tolerance was confusing my young sons than how the "Med Therapy" had been evolving. Those two philosophies met with a vengeance at the private walk-in medicine chests in the homes of friends. Ouchie mama. . . Still mopping up that mess.

Fast forward another couple of decades and pot is now my "Med Therapy." Kinda hope my state doesn't go "medical marijuana." My dealers are much more social and involved than any of my professionals ever have been. The side effects are easier for me to assimilate than any of the med cocktails coming out of Big Pharma. "Medical marijuana" feels as natural as Xanax to my senses. I prefer homegrown. I smoke about a bowl a day at home but do okay without it in politically conflicted circumstances.

For sure, it is a very confusing body of politics. . . Which voice(s) to listen to remains a mystery to me. No shortage of conflicting opinions/laws on the subject. Onward through the controversy.
