Night Prayer

another poem flows through our space today! this from a friend...

Celtic Night Prayer
Do not hurry as you walk with grief, it does not help the journey.
Walk slowly, pausing often: do not hurry as you walk with grief.
Do not be disturbed by memories that come unbidden. Swiftly forgive, and let God speak for you unspoken words.
Unfinished conversation will be resolved in Him. Be not disturbed.
Be gentle with the one who walks with grief. If it is you, be gentle with yourself.
Swiftly forgive, walk slowly, pausing often...
Take time, be gentle as you walk with grief.

We all need to remember as the poem says \"Be gently with the one who walks with grief. If it is you be gentle with yourself\". So true. Thanks for the reminder and the poem. Truly your friend, BarbaraWawa

This is beautiful and for me to pause... I find myself doing that throughout my day. To not hurry, to pause and to be gentle... such kind, loving and healing words for each of us. Thank you, Sarah. With love, Joanie

I liked these words especially:

Do not be disturbed
by memories that come unbidden.
Swiftly forgive,
and let God speak for you
unspoken words.
Unfinished conversation
will be resolved in Him.
Be not disturbed.

because we know how much those unfinished conversations can haunt us. It never came to me before how we can let those things go (some of you probably had figured that out!) trusting that the Spirit of Love would finish and forgive and resolve it all.
Peace, heart to heart,
Sarah

Sarah, thank you. I needed to hear this. That we can give our unfinished conversations with our kids to God for resolution? That we do not have to be tormented by them anymore. How freeing! Wow!

lovely poem...

I was especially struck by the idea of forgiveness as a part of the grief journey, I hadn\'t thought of that before and it seems so true and necessary

This is very beautiful and thought provoking. There are times when I think that I want to tell my son, Michael, something and then remember that I cannot. The idea of forgiveness, I think, applies to ourselves, our child and to anyone else who may have affected our child or us during our grief. I have to think on this. Thanking for sharing. Hugs, Belinda

True words. I find much meaning in songs and poems, before they were just words. Life changes and we cannot control it but we need to forgive ourselves. Life is a mystery.
