Congress Approves National Suicide Prevention Designation Act
The U.S. Congress has approved the adoption of 988, the new three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to be completed by July 2022. In the meantime please continue to share 1-800-273-TALK (8255) with anyone wishing to connect to the Lifeline. 988 is NOT CURRENTLY ACTIVE nationally and may not connect callers to the Lifeline.
It will be much easier once it is active.
Hopefully, they are able to put up the directed to the current hotline.
So glad to see something's being done about this, just wish it didn't have to take until 2022. It's long overdue.
