My Evening Prayer
Father,
I miss having a human being I can really talk to. I know You want me to always be talking with You and the uppermost thing on my mind,is getting back to church. I'm thinking of going back to the one I used to go to,before the whole mess started. I don't know if it still exists, because as You know I lost touch with the people there. Shirley had my POA and wouldn't let me tithe for a while. When I took my POA back,I started tithing again and giving offerings, and so far my financial situation is improving. The woman who used to insult me all the time quit and moved to Florida (thank You). Three young women divide the duties here now. I know You know all this. For some time (a very long time) you've been dealing with me about re-establishing contact with a church body. Even if my old church doesn't exist anymore, please help me find one some other way. I just sent an e-mail to my former pastor. I hope she replies soon.
The one I've sporadically attended in my years at home seems dead to me. I really hate to say that but I can't help it. If I went back to Samuel, would that be OK? Or if Pastor Ronnie (not her real name) can help me find another one? Once you've worshiped in a charismatic church,it's hard to switch back to the mainline denominations. Gosh, they're so boring! And QUIET! They remind me of the time my brother Bob went to the doctor and the waiting room was full of people but no one spoke, and Bob cleared his throat and he said it sounded like he screamed. I've grown weary of that. I had the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in a heavenly language, but I don't use it much. Sometimes I don't have any words. And I can't talk to You out loud here,of course. I hope You will understand and help me out.
I just realized tomorrow is Veterans' Day,and exactly 30 years ago I received the Spirit baptism. I know there really are no coincidences with You.
Thanks for listening. I love you.
