my cousin

once she texted me while drunk trying to reach out and mend bridges. and today i open my email and there is a letter from her, again trying to rekindle our relationship.
i don't really know what to do. when i think about what she did, i feel very, very hurt. she snooped, she invaded my privacy, and then she went and told my parents. her in her super hero cape and me the floundering helpless individual in "so much danger."
she did a background check on my boyfriend. after i had told her some information in absolute confidence to try and have her understand why things were all fucked up, why he was fucked up, and why i was trying to give him a chance. she made him out to be a monster, and worse, she did this when i had left town with him to go see his parents on the east coast. i was so crushed, and everybody back home was abuzz about how i might be in danger. i was terrified that word would get out to everyone in the family about an incident from his past that, honestly, was a stupid mistake but not anything terrible. and i was all alone on the other side of the country while she was trying to break us up. and my mom, she's so susceptible to what other people say, so she's taking my cousin's side at first, telling me the bf is a bad man, a liar, etc. i can't really explain how completely devastating this was.
so now she's reaching out to me. i just moved into my own place. my boyfriend is moving out of the state on july 16th. my heart is broken. sure, i miss our friendship, but i can't imagine that her controlling self has really changed all that much in 9 months. the last thing i want is for her to feel like she was justified when she finds out we split up. and i am still so hurt by her.
i guess right now is not the time to be worrying about this. i really need to take care of myself. i need to heal. someone who was physically bedridden and in recovery probably wouldn't be expected to go out and take care of business. i have to allow myself the same emotional privilege.
