morning ramble & time to get ready......
any of ya'll ever have pre-dental appt. guilt? it's only 9:37 am and i've already flossed and brushed my teeth twice since i woke up.
one would think that i am having audience with the dental pope. where did all this guilt come from anyway?
i got one of those unexpected think i can's yesterday around 3:30. decided to head over to pharmacy land and p/u meds. stopped at the store feeling very determined.......got the food donations into the store. which felt like even more effort than i'd imagined, lol! the donation bins were gone. what??? no.......what???
a nice young lady tells me why the bins are gone.......sigh. she says she is going to her church after work and can drop off the bags for me. seriously? awesome!!! i hope it can be a blessing to a family. we grew up poor..........we didn't know we were, but we had our suspicions........probably cause our Dad told us weekly that we were going to the poor farm. laughing.......this morning my heart is light.
kind of surprising, cause i started the day by watching part of a terrible documentary. a hollywood actor who announced he was retiring from acting to turn rapper. it was beyond awful, later they tried to pass it off as a hoax. i only made it a short way in, the thing was so .......far beyond not good.
but in that short amount of time observing this filmed dreck i thought about life on this pretty blue marble of ours...........how we all lay claim to an address here......but the planet we live on can vary so greatly from room to room ......street to street. sounds like i'm being a floaty drifty head........but seriously we can live within our ears or we can embrace beyond our minds and try to keep our feet on balanced level ground.
as a chronically ill person i can get pretty wrapped up in the womb of my existence inside my little nest.......i don't want to stop having an awareness of, a consideration for and compassion for our world. some of the people i know from life before disability (or LBD, no not Little Black Dress, but Life Before Disability........argh, ack) are into naysayerdom. the world is going to hell in a hand basket kind of thinking..........others are into self destruction, some are into rebuilding. stop the blame and make it better.........i read an article about a growing number of young adults who are taking positions of responsibility for more than just themselves at reduced salaries, working hard, being satisfied with less.............by actually living within their means.........and not wasting a whole lot of time crying over who spilled the milk before it was their turn up at bat via their lifetime.
in other words they aren't blaming anyone past or present for economic downturns, they aren't angry, they are aware, they are awake, they want to do their best to make earth better. not via bitterness......no, they want to use a vehicle of betterment for all.
and i can't lie, i am impressed. they carve out these small niches to live, be self supporting, to give to others, to have a purposeful life...........they seem to me to be so wise beyond their years.
sorry, i'm rambling again............my bad!
i am going to dry my hair........take a nap and then get ready for all things dental. lah de dah.
God is giving me what I need today to get ready to go and get dental help...........sweet! thank you Lord!!!!!!!!
thinking of you.........gonna look forward to catching up on your journals, etc. when i recup from today's drill........"mommy, don't make me go...............!!!" she said........i am trying to be brave here, but i am still a scaredy cat dental patient...........please ask the Lord to remind me to breathe in the chair today!!!! hugs, sparrow

I\'m a scaredy cat dental patient too!!!! I hate going to the dentist. I\'ve been putting off going for months now. I have a tooth with a crown that hurts when I swallow...weird, huh? My front teeth are getting warn down. I can see little cracks in them. I heard that a person with Sjogren\'s has an awful time with their teeth, because of the dry mouth...no saliva. I read that even crowns aren\'t good for Sjogren\'s. All I know is I have allot of dental work ahead of me. Dental insurance doesn\'t cover much. Guess I will start on the teeth after Christmas. Plus my dentist is 45 minutes away. I wish I could find someone closer, but I like my dentist. I don\'t know how my nerve damage would affect any dental work. Sorry about that. Just rambling on & on....
Glad you were able to get out yesterday to pick up your meds. One less stop for you today. Hope all goes well today. Praying for you Ruthie.
That sounds encouraging about younger adults taking responsibility & going with less & making it work for them.
I hope you remembered to breathe in the chair today. :) love ya xo
Add another scardy cat dental patient to your list! I just don\'t like pain, but my dentist is pretty nice. Hope all went well for you today, as in no pain.
A pat on the head to the wonderful lady who took your donations to the church, the Lord watches over us. Softy hugs, Connie
Hope your dentist visit went well and you are pain-free. I love your LBD - life before disability, rather than Little Black Dress.
Love you, dear Ruthie.
What did dentists do eo us when we were children to make us so terrified as adults? I hate going to the dentist too. I\'ll hold your hand when you\'re there.
