Missed Christmas

I did what I have read so many have said they wish they could do..is sleep through Christmas....I did
I became very ill Christmas Eve and Christmas Day..between being in severe pain..and other things...Christmas Day came and went without me....
No I don't want to ever sleep through Christmas Day again..Yes I miss Ken so bad and I have cried to day and feel that God must hate me for taking Ken ...but I missed Christmas with the rest of my family and I am so sad about that...Could not even call anyone was so sick...so never got to talk to any on Christmas Day...
I hope no matter how much I hurt over Ken...I never miss a holiday again...Even thought it might feel like it would be better to sleep through it all and wake to a new day..it may be another day...but then you also missed a day with other special people in your life...
Whether it is Christmas or what...we will always miss our child....but missing the time with our families and remembering our families we have lost...we still need that day...and time.
I would not know it if I had not slept through Christmas to wake up to the presents are still by the fireplace..I never got to wish anyone a Merry Christmas or talked to my children or family....
So I myself, hope to never sleep through another holiday no matter how much it hurts.
Hope everyone got through the day...

Sandi, I hope you feel better very soon. We want the old Christmas\'s of years past, back along with our children. Reality hits hard at this time. I know I have to go through it to make any progress in this grief journey. I\'m sending you well wishes and a hug for a New Year that is pleasant. Debbie

Oh dear, I hope you are feeling better... yes, there is always a down side to \'sleeping\' though the days... we need those times with family and friends, inspite of the pain.

Sandi, I slept through Christmas too...it was sad, but I didnt know what else to do. I felt paralyzed and stunned, short of breath. My daughters went with their dad to Aunts and Grandmas. They understood ... but Christmas Eve we exchanged presents and shared it was nice. Last year was a blur...this year...no words. I hope youre feeling better, Im so sorry you had such a rough day. Much Love, Ess

Sandy, I hope you are feeling better. I wanted to sleep through x-mas but had to go to my son. I didn\'t want to hurt them. Guess what. Being with my family did make it bearable. I thought the first time without my beautiful Jackie would cause a meltdown but they got me through it. Wishing you health, peace & love. XXX OOO Gail

Hoping you are feeling better today on the \"other\" side of Christmas. So sorry that you were ill and slept through it... I\'m sure that opens up many feelings for you with your family. Regret is something that is always there yet steals away the positive energy of now so you did your best dear Sandi and today is a new day. Hopeful that another day to be together as a family will present itself so that you can share those much needed hugs. I can feel your disappointment and understand...

Gentle care this day,
XO Joanie

Christmas is always tough for me. I always feel responsible for everyone\'s happiness, and it doesn\'t always work.

Oh no - so sorry you were poorly. I do hope you are feeling a little better - maybe your body just needed that time to relax and recover some, bad timing though it was. This is just a tough time of year, no matter what. Take care of yourself ~ Joanna

I pray you are better now, Sandi....I know that it is a hard day anyway for us but to be sick on top of it makes it even worse. Yes, we never know who will be taken from us and that this Christmas might be the last for any of us...we never know so we have to go on and make it the best we can. My family knows the agony of my heart but we still seem to have a laugh and enjoy the company of each other and remember Brandon by the love and laughter he left in our lives. I know Ken is remembered by all of your family, too. Have a blessed 2012 and I hope that peace will be yours...love, dale..brandon\'s mom

In a weird way I think sleeping through Christmas and learning that you never wish to sleep through a holiday again might be helpful to your aching heart to let you know that, as much as it hurts not having Ken here, you want to share whatever joy you can with those who are still with you.

Sending much love and big tight post-Christmas hugs ~ Debbie
