Miss ya........pull up a chair and set a spell......xoxo

Last night I posted a quick journal of pollen pics if you're interested.........funny stuff pollen.
So today.......a brand new day.  I woke up and decided to go back to bed.  Executive decision number one.  Getting up later was much better!  Today is a quad cane/safety shoes to navigate kind of day........when you're wonky gotta be extra careful.
Some good news.  My taxes are done, Karen and I had a nice chat.  Can I afford her in the years to come?  Probably not.  Can I become even more self sufficient and learn how to use an inexpensive app on my own?  My son thinks yes........he says I need to learn, overcome my fear of forms/numbers (and the IRS) or keep handing someone else money I need to live on.  Well jeez if you're gonna bring reality into the conversation..........based on the current cost to have someone continue to do my taxes in the future I need to budget money monthly for that. Either save or get an inexpensive reusable app.......so what can I give up going forward? Hmmmm.
Sam said I could start working on my taxes in January & then he could come over and check my work before I submit it.  It all sounds so reasonable when he says this to me.........gotta do stuff to save and this is a solid chunk of change........so now we know what we have to do, either save up or grow a pair..........LOL!!!!! (did i just type that out loud????? sorry!!!!!!!!)
I picked up some more yogurt yesterday.......it has a chemical aftertaste.  Wow, didn't see that one coming.  It's a Carbmaster light yogurt by Kroger.  Initially it is creamy, delicious and then you get HIT with the aftertaste.  A subtle unpleasant blend of burnt coffee & something else......not unlike fuel fumes.   Not A GOOD WAY to start the day.  It totally interferes with the light creamy refreshing experience.  I called the 800 number - the rep was very nice.  She credited my account with the money I spent on this product.  She  said she adds granola or trail mix so she can get the reduced calories & cover up the aftertaste
Personally I would rather buy regular yogurt with a few more calories and skip the disguise.  To each his own - luckily we have CHOICES........it was so easy to get my money back on this.  HUH.  Nice.  Krogers gives each customer a savings card w/ a barcode.  All I had to do was give her the barcode number off the card and the $$money&& is immediately credited back to my account.  Some tech stuff is so sweet, cause I don't have the zippity do dah to go back to the store.............super appreciate the ease of this!
On a good note, Sam helped me with speakers for my computer. The monitor doesn't allow me to have much VOLUME, so when I listen to music it's hard.  I have been leaning in to the screen straining to hear better.  Not a great resolution.  The volume was on high, but without speakers it's been a bust.  (speakers were built in to my old computer)
Sounded like I was listening through a straw here in GA to music being played in far off distant beautiful Idaho.........So he's helping me get me some sleek little inexpensive speakers so Mom can listen to tunes.  YAY. (he found me a great buy w/ free shipping.......big thanks shout out to SAM!!!!!!)
They think the rain will come sometime tonight to give us a reprieve from all the pollen.  C'mon RAIN!
I just finished a Chicken Soup for the Soul book about Brothers & Sisters.  Only gonna share one little story with you.  A brother wrote in about growing up in a family with lots of brothers and sisters.  He said that there were always bicycles in need of a tire, a chain, some repair or other.  He also said that he LOVED Raisin Bran.  Loved all those sweet, plump little raisins.  One summer morning he got up, opened the container.........and to his surprise there were no RAISINS.  None, zero, zip, nada.  He thought his folks had been given a defective box.   What was going on?  Ever curious, he investigated further.  He poured the whole big box into a container..........NO RAISINS.........to his surprise a folded piece of paper tumbled out.  He opened the note & read, "If you wanna see your RAISINS BACK ALIVE, then you'll keep your promise and fix my bike.......otherwise the RAISINS GET IT!" Signed, Celia.
Yup, his slightly older sister was holding his raisins as ransom.  Made me chuckle all day long.........kids are funny.........do you have a great story to share?  I sure love a good story..........love to all, hugs and care...............only if you're up to it of course, no worries.......if ya need to rest, rest........xoxoxoxo
p.s. if you caught the story about the man who held firefighters hostage in Suwanee, GA yesterday, that was about 11 miles from where I live..........praying for the families of all..........so sad that the gunman died.......if you don't know much about it, the firefighters were dispatched to a medical call.  Someone called w/heart problems.  It was a ruse, once inside the man pulled a gun on them and took the five men hostage.  At one point one of the firefighters was released.....after hours of negotiation the swat team dispensed a concussive grenade into the home (to distract the gunman)
Last night they said they did not know as yet if an officer had shot the gunman or if he had taken his own life..........it is all so sad and so scary.   We all depend on emergency staff to help us through life emergencies..........this is so sad.  Tragic ......for all.  Glad that the firefighters and the injured police officer are all alive and safe.  We all need to remember to pray for the world daily.  xoxoxo

Good & positive here. Taxes done - a customer service person who was helpful (behind a while for you & I\'m still looking) - speakers for your computer & a son who is helping you.

Love the story about the kidnapped raisins. Closest thing I have to that took place in college. I always seemed to have some cherry flavored tootsie pops around. One of the guys in my suite would often just take one without asking. So what did I do. Took the ball of a paddle ball - remember the fliback toy or paddle ball as we called it & a red magic marker. Made it look more red than usual. Stuck it on a tootsie pop stick & placed it in a cherry wrapper & placed it in clear view for his hands.

Sure enough the next time he came in my room, he grabbed that one. Put it in his mouth & proceeded to suck on it. Never let up so after a minute or so I broke down & told him what I had done. No telling how long he would have kept sucking on it had I not stopped him.

Yes, it is sad what happen with that man & the firefighters - that sort of thing seems to be happening everyday - just a different place & all. Our world is in turmoil these days & prayer is the only real answer.

Wow! Mixed bag here! Sso sorry about the yogurt! What a nasty surprise that must have been! Goodness. Happy you got refunded. The lady even admitted there was an after taste problem! Someone needs to write to the company and totally complain. I\'ve been battline the USPS for days now, I\'m in the mood, gimme their number, I\'LL DO IT!!

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy for the new speakers so you can listen to your tunes! I love music. When Bobby isn\'t home, I go downstairs and play my vinyle 60\'s through 80\'s albums. I LUVS ME MA MUSIC! Enjoy!!

Funny raisin story.....I was totally expecting that there were no raisins in the box! It happens!! I bought chunky peanut butter once, that had no peanuts. Nothin is sacred anymore.

Glad you turned around and went back to bed this morning! Wise decision, wise woman. I do that almost every day! My second sleep is more refreshing than my first! I\'m sure this means something in the grand scheme of things, but I\'m too tired to think about it right now......xoxo : )

I don\'t know if I would be able to do taxes at all. Her in the UK we don\'t have to, we are taxed directly from any salary before we receive it and we pay VAT ( value added tax) on our purchases, pay it right at the till, so would find it hard to keep a record of it all as I am not used to doing that.

As for the yoghurt? Sounds yuck, aftertaste? No thank you. I don\'t tend to buy any of these light, low fat, low sugar products as so many have lingering tastes from all the artificial sweeteners, which by the way ain\'t good for us health wise anyway ( go look up aspartame and you mind change your shopping habits too ). Yeah give me full fat, full sugar, full flavour stuff all the time, only problem is to the waistline haha.
Great to read your journal as always

You are so funny..I just rediscovered the joy of listenting to music. for a number of years now there has been no music in my home. I have a 200disc player and the power button borke and that was that for that. I never listen on the computer because I work on the computer all day, when I get home my eyes are too tired, I rarely turn on my home computer.

So, I\'ve been listening to music at work for a few weeks now .. plan to get some nice speakers so I can enjoy it at home also.

I just bought an Iyanly Vanzant book today. Have not done much reading in the last 3 yrs again because of eye fatigue. I hope Ill actually make it throught he book.

Object lesson .. the little things you are able to do are wonderful!
