i am trying so hard to wrap my head around this knee thing, it is bringing ED to the surface. a big factor in deciding is fear in not being able to do anything and gain weight, how could i not. i am thinking that until i decide when, i have to exercise as much as i can, to my abilty and i would like to lose about 5 pounds as a cushion. i know intectually this is wrong and not sensible, but i am petrified, i dont want to gain back anymore weight then i did, 6 pounds over 6 months. which i am supposed to be happy about. i am thinking about  waiting on the surgery till the pain level is really not tolerable, i can handle it now, so i think maybe i should wait. one good news, is that the nia instructor last night lives really close to me and she said she would help with the cats, feed, give loveies. i was touched.

your\'e fear is a normal reaction but may be think of it from another way, if you exercise more now it will only be natural to bear more of your weight on the other knee as your knee is bad now it will only get worse with the more exercise you do...what happens if your other knee gets bad then you have the same problems all over again?? its just another way to think of it as i know ed can sometimes blind the iogic (( many hugs))

Thats great you found someone to help out with the cats if you have to be gone a short time. One less thing to have to worry about. Those feelings of ED can be so overwhelming im sorry ED found your knee problem to be the prime target... it does make sense though. The last 24 hrs ive been fighting Ed in a similar way... since i quit smoking Ed keeps tellin me just go get a pack of smokes if you stay quit youre gonna gain tons of wt..... ughhhhhhh i wanna beat both Ed and nicotine so bad but its really hard. Just like you ... you work so hard to be healthy and then Ed tries to tell you this surgrey is going to be a problem. Just remember Ed lies! If you did gain alittle soon your knee would be free of pain and youd be able to do all the things you wanted to. Hugggggzzzz

Ann sorry that you have to deal with this whole knee issue. Health problems can be so scary. Surgery is scary It is VERY important that anyone involved in surgery knows about ED as they may need to use different drugs and monitor things extra carefully. This is so easy for me to say, but you need to build your strength up before surgery so that there may be better recovery, etc. However, I know that I would be thinking the exact same thing as you, so I can understand what you are saying. Also consulting with your nutritionist may help. Hope you are able to find some peace while you make decisions. xxx

thanks everyone. my father went to see my original orthopedic doctor, now retired and they are good friends. this doctor said to definetly get another opinion and he recommended 3 doctors, empahtizing 1 in particular. he said if he or his family needed work done, he would go to this doctor. so i called and i am seeing him friday the 17th. it will be interesting to see what he says and if now is the time, as i know it is inevitable.

I\'m glad you are getting a second opinion. That\'s always a good idea and I hope you get good news because it\'s not like you need any more stress.

if this doctor says the same, which i suspect he will, i am going to have him be my ortho. doctor,he was highly recommended by my former doctor. also he has a great bedside manner lol, which is great, i hate lousy, unfriendly doctors.
