Loneliness

Its a familiar feeling. I feel like its always been there. Sometimes its not so bad and other times it makes me so sad. Loneliness. Its ironic actually because I have a habit of isolating myself and even when I do feel good I kinda keep to myself a lot of the time. Im a loner, always have been. So, do I have any right complaining about being lonely? Most people would just say get out there, meet people and do things. Its not so easy for someone like myself. Not to make excuses but that kinda stuff really goes against how I am as a person. I like to be social sometimes but not as much as most people so does that mean I shouldn't get lonely? I don't mind my own company but sometimes I simply feel so lonely its hard to deal with. For some reason this is a hard thing for me to talk about. Not really sure why Im talking about it now. I suppose it weighs heavy on my soul and heart.

I am glad you can talk about it here. Loneliness is a big issue. Think of it though Pagan - think of how personable you are here. You touch people in a really good way. I think everyone gets lonely at times. I heard a song today utter the line in so many words - \'I am amongst a million people but I feel alone\'
You may feel alone - but you make others feel like they are not alone. I hope you can feel and know you are not alone. Just some thoughts. I think we have something in us that tries to find our identity and yet if we are open to it - and make it less complex than it is. I hope that wasn\'t too forward but you\'ve got a good band of people by your side Pagan. It might better to have them in person... maybe that is a goal to set. I hope this wasn\'t too assuming. Peace and stay strong. mark

its very difficult for us to be extroverted and outgoing when we\'re depressed. If we\'re already introverted by nature, the depression just seems to make it that much worse. I can see how getting out there and meeting people is against who you are as a person. Just because you like your own attention doesn\'t mean that you don\'t have a right to be lonely. It\'s part of human nature to have some sort of human contact now and again. I\'ve always been kind of introverted, but there are times when I do get lonely also. I\'ve always been kind of in the middle of introverted and extroverted, lately I\'ve become really introverted, but it\'s not a bad thing. It just part of who we are :)

I completely understand 100% what you are saying here. I am the same way: a loner by nature, but sometimes I feel so damn lonely.

You\'re in good company here. Sometimes when DS isn\'t enough I try to do something I know I enjoy doing alone. Sorry, my advice sucks, but I\'m not really good at it myself. I hope being here helps.

This is something I struggle with a lot my separateness.... I do feel very alone a lot of the time and it\'s the place that I pick to be at... The only thing that I know to change it (because it does become comfortable) is to push yourself outside of your comfort zone... I wish it was easier then that but for me it isn\'t easy either... Big hug for you sweetie...xo

I\'m glad you\'re talking about your feelings of lonliness, Pagan. Your they sure resonate with me. Between mood instability and internal pain, making friends and feeling close has been difficult for me. And you sound like you could be an introvert which complicates things. The holidays bring out the sense of lonliness, too. Sending you hugs...
