last night

Last night after being mean all day he suddenly became nice. Umm drinking much ya think?  we managed to get through dinner and were watching a tv show together.  About 7:30 he passed out.  The girls asked me if how he can fall asleep so easily and not be woken up.  I kind of hesitated for a minute.  I mean if his ex finds out he's drinking again it could start the whole custody thing again.  Is it my place to tell them?  I couldn't really lie to them though so I said you really don't know?  and then I said it's a 4 letter word..starts with a B and ends with an R.  The oldest got it right away and informed her sister what it meant with a roll of the eye.  They are teenagers now.  I don't want to say anything bad about their dad but I also don't want to keep the truth from them.  With his mom also being an alcoholic and everyone making it seem like a good time I worry that the girls will grow up to have a problem also.  This morning of course everything is just peachy. Crap...just once I wish he would have a hangover.
