It is Finally Done
I have been hiding out and steering clear of the news, but it seems it is done. Biden has won the presidency. Congratulations to he and those who voted for him. I am taking a breath and simply praying that he does take this oath seriously for ALL of us, not just those that many see as more of a concern.
All does happen for a reason. Now I shall stay quietly aside . I just pray as time goes on I may feel a bit more included then as I do right now. For me, I think that was why I was so outspoken, because my entire life I was not allowed to speak up... and was always discounted. I am there again.
At any rate... is another day.

hugs my friend. Speak up loud and clear. It is your right and duty. I am happy that Donald Trump is gone. I know I will get flack for that, so be it. Just as I got flack when I voted against Prime Minister Trudeau. Stand up and be counted.

sweetgirl18 I concur to that sentiment. Just like when Trudeau Sr. was forced to retire or he was going to be humiliated at the polls. Stay safe and strong everyone.
Trump did good things for the American people. He put Americans first. Unlike the democrats that put themselves first at the expense of all Americans.
Bubba that is why I continue to pray that OUR lives and what is best for ALL of us and our country may somehow win out over PC and expecting to continue to surrender as piece by piece is taken away. Trump may have been abrasive... but he always supported our military, police, enforcing the law and trying to preserve our history and monuments that have brought us to where we are now.
Now I am afraid that is no longer a concern. It is what it is.
Well here’s what I say: regardless who we vote for, if it’s because we despise who is in office currently or because someone else more closely aligned with what we are concerned about or our values, all we can do is cast our vote.. That is a beautiful thing. The politics of it all is what makes it so draining and ugly for our country.
I’m 55 years and voting since I could do so. Sometimes the candidates I voted for won and sometimes they didn’t. And yet here I am, and we are, still standing, regardless. The good news is we have 4 year term limits so we all can give it hell with our votes in a few years again.
We all did our part. Now it is time for them to do theirs.
I figure I did my part and voted Kim I'm glad your able to speak up. As for trump some things I liked about him and some things I didn't just like with Biden some things I like and don't like I honestly worry for how he will do because of health issues he's had but I guess we see for how it works.
As for me speaking my mind outve my 2 sisters my younger 1 who I'm close to likes Biden my older 1 likes trump and those 2 will sit there like cats and dogs fighting about it. It drives me nuts because you when you vote your voicing your own opinion and I feel just because 1 likes trump and 1 likes biden.
If I compare my 2 sisters my older one who I'm not to close with but civil and my younger one who I am just because 1 likes Biden and 1 who likes trump doesn't make them bad people.but why do they have to fight over it.
your voice is important kim.....who else will I get to whisper sweet nothings to me? Kidding about the little whispering.....but your voice is important.....we want to hear things from all points and ponder them with our envisioned desires.....which is why I saw it as a sweet nothings moment....

I am an Independent But lets be honest.....Trump, nobody can deny is a liar....and cheater......as a Vietnam vet. I also see him as a draft dodger, any person who has no respect for foot soldiers and calls them losers,,,,,,,and stands by when told that Bounties have been put on our heads. Has no RESPECT from me.....I rest my case ,I could fill an entire page,,,however the people have voted and decision has been made. God bless the USA.
Some have had their say now, I will have mine. Trump was abrasive. If someone took issue with him, he would fight back. I felt sometimes it would have been better for him to let things go rather than take issue with so many things he did on Twitter. As for Trump calling the soldiers losers, I am not sure he said that. Seems strange that he would say that and yet, build our military up as he did during his tenure as President. Yourman1, I thank you for your service as a VietNam Vet. You guys deserve our honor and respect and if no-one has said it to you, "Welcome Home".
I could not, however, vote for the platform of the Democratic Party. I don't believe in open borders, sanctuary cities, abortion, free medical and free education of illegal immigrants, condoning riots, gun control or confiscation the taxing of Social Security, and, the new Green Deal which will be pushed by the far left of the Democratic Party. It wouldn't surprise me that Nancy Pelosi will try to evoke the 25th amendment on Joe Biden so Kamala Harris can be President, that is if Pelosi can retain her Speaker of the House Seat.
I think we should all let by gones be bygones because I think it's important to remember who we are. We are not a divided people who argue and hurl insults every chance we get....We are the UNITED states of America. It is only in being united that we will ever get anything accomplished. I am sure we can listen to all points of view and find common ground in ALL of them and work together to make life better for each and every one of us,

I kind of remember it being taboo to tell people who you were voting for. I’m not a person to get too sentimental about the past but boy, I wish that were the case now in our society. It would curb a lot of the incivility and vitriol in general.
