If God is consciousness

Reflecting on Ram Dass, Buddhism, and Jeffrey Rutstein this morning... 

If god is consciousness and our minds are beyond reincarnation (which I do believe) then that means it would be smart for me to stay away from anyone or anything or any addiction that would pull me from consciousness. ie. Unhealthy relationships put me into a state of fear and all of my energy goes toward surviving rather than toward passion and hope and living a full life. This means to me that I need to commit to myself, to commit to disconnecting from/block/remove anything that causes me to dissociate or move away from peace. To commit to inner peace, not attaching. To commit to the peace of impermanence. 

"You want to end suffering, but see suffering as grace" - This is true... I prevent holding people accountable to protect them from themselves or I go against myself to prevent suffering in another person. But happiness is not a constant state and it can't be controlled... As Ram Dass puts it..."When I don't know who I am I serve you. When I know who I am I am with you".

Start with following what gives you peace inorder to get to a place of consciouness... 

This suits the theories of defense mechanisms as well...fight, flight, freeze, fawn, attach, submit. These are states.... states away from consciousness. Anything that puts me in these states are dangerous, moving me away from "God", from consciouness, and causes detriment to myself and the people around me. To protect people from themselves or from my authentic connection is moving away from consciousness, away from god, away from peace and it is hurting the world instead of adding value to it. 

It is not my fault for my biology and my upbringing but I don't have to choose to stay in these states...
