I have been missing you all dearly.
Well, I feel as though I have risen from the dead or dying. Thanks to the few friends I have been Blessed to have here sending me hugs and positive messages, I am finally able to respond in kind. I love you ALL at this site!
The 33 radiation treatments certainly have knocked me down and I have been bedridden most often and continue to spend most of my days in bed. I can read some before becoming too tired and watch a comedy or documentary. I called oncologist nurse and she told me that the worst side effects of radiation is "FATIGUE!" It's laughable at this point, as I just have to accept this on top of CFS for however long it takes to heal and perhaps have a good day.
Meditation and prayer is my most powerful form of coping without too much sadness. I was able to put myself together and attend a breast cancer dinner Last Friday sponsored by the ACS. It exposed so many courageous lovely women and the food was excellent. I will try and post some photos from it. My son came and picked me up for a ten day visit with him and my grandchildren. Being around grandsons was uplifting and helped me remain strong without complaining. I also enjoyed his large pool as I received relief from gravity pulling me down and some Vitamin D in the sunshine.
I hope you All know how Special and Dear you are to me, for even though I may not be able to respond to each Heartfelt Hug and message I certainly experience your precious sweet souls of consideration.
I am also practicing accepting and loving myself just as I am without judgement and living in the NOW
I wish everyone much LOVE & HEALING from my Heart to Yours

It\'s so good to hear from you! As I know about the radiation side effects from hubby going through it, I know well, that his fatigue from radiation was very close to mind with CFS! He simply stopped functioning! BUT, he did it anyway. I was so proud of him.
It is wonderful to have this site and the wonderful people on it, isn\'t it? The words of encouragement are so helpful.
I\'m glad you came here. I pray for strength to return to you! xo
Wow, your fatigue must have been off the charts. As if CFS weren\'t bad enough and then add on radiation. I\'ve often wondered how people with CFS manage to deal with other serious diseases on top. It\'s only the grace of God, I\'m sure. May you be surrounded in healing and light. Love you. Heather.
So glad you wrote, but so sorry you are going through so much. I hope the FATIGUE is the only really difficult side effect you are experiencing, as if that weren\'t bad enough! Yes, I recall also, from people I\'ve know who\'ve beent rhough it that the radiation really knocks the slats out from under you, but yo WILL recover from it. It doesn\'t last forever. It\'s wonderful that your meditation, prayer and mindfulness practice is what you are gocusing on. It is powerful and quiets the CNS so your body can heal. It is so gentle and seems like you are doing nothing, but it is working on deep levels. You\'ve probably read the book about laughter as medicine - I can\'t recall the author now, but you mentioned that you are watching comedies. That is great! I don\'t know what your tastes are, but Flirting with Disaster, Some LIke it Hot, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Tootsie and oh Gosh, I can\'t recall the other one (Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and others are in it about a group of actors who are making a film in the jungle, but they wind up really acting like they are army guys. Very whacky and funny...)Oh yeah, The Big Lebowski with Jeff Bridges.. Anyway, there are a few tips for ya! IF you\'re looking for fun films you can go to google the 100 best comedies.... There\'s a list...
Anyway, humor is one of the greatest healers and I hope you find a great deal of it as well as peace of mind as you travel through your healing journey.
So good to hear from you. Blessings of all kinds to you,
Love and HUgs,
Denise
Namaste dear friend. You are so brave.A spiritual warrior woman for sure. One step at a time and I know you will get there.Of course the main side effect would just have to be FATIGUE wouldn\'t it.How much fatigue can these bodies take. You are struggling so much with your physical body. A painful marathon indeed.Still you possess so much spiritual strength and awareness and inspire us all. What a blessing you are.
I was happy to hear that your son picked you up and you were able to feel the joy of your precious grandchildren.Good medicine for you.Love light and all healing sweet spirit soul. Here for you. xo
Love and Healing to you, dear Falconwings. I hope good days come to you very soon. It seems unbelievable that lying on that radiation table for just a few minutes can drain the living right out of you, but I know it does. After all, those rays are KILLING cells in your body. It may not be so invasive as surgery, but nevertheless it requires a good deal of recovery time even without CFS. At the Cancer Center, I received one-on-one physical rehabilitation twice daily. They encouraged gentle exercise and at the same time taught me how to recognize my bodys signals that I had worked hard enough. They really stressed that pushing even a little too hard could set me back for days. Im sure that is why I felt as well as I did when I got home.
How wonderful that your son brought you to his home, with a pool, no less. Im sure that was very good for you physically and mentally. As noted by AussieDi, you are an inspiration to us. Please take care of yourself. xoxo
