happy mothers day

My dear DS friends , please accept my belated mother's day greetings.  I've been stressed and in pain.  Had a mini-crash over the weekend so was pretty much out of it until about 11pm when I checked my phone and saw mother's day greetings from friends.  Ah well .. another holiday missed thanks to CFS.
I came to adulthood in the church and waited a long long time for God to send me the person He had ordained for me.  Eventually I got tired of waiting. I was the last person anyone would ever expect to end up as a single mother. When I did I took some flack from people in church and pushed me out of the church for a long time.  But I have always viewed motherhood as a blessing.
My son has been my reason for living when depression has taken every other reason away.  He has been my joy.  He has been my inspiration. He is my reason now for trying to make the best of this CFS journey.  I cannot give up because I have been gifted with responsibility over the life and future of another human being.  This is a sacred charge and I must do my best as long as I can.
And with the responsibility comes the reward of a relationship which cannot be compared to any other experience in life.  The mother's club is an elite one.  The rite of passage is long and often painful.  It is an experience our husbands cannot share and even though they may help us along the journey, we hold a special place that they can never fill.
I have learned that we are not always the mothers we want to be, sometimes our issues and challenges and fears and insecurities affect our mothering and sometimes the impact on our children is not as we would desire.  Sometimes they lash out, fight back or push us away.  And even though this pain barely can be described, like any other mistake we make in life we just have to recognize where we failed, make amends if we can and allow the healing to take place as best it can.  Most importantly we must forgive ourselves and others because no matter what, that badge of motherhood, once earned cannot be taken away from us.
Motherhood is tough, even more so when dealing with the challenge of chronic illness.  I take my hat off to all you brave souls who continue to love and to try to be the best mother you can be .. whether you are mothering your own offspring, or someone else's or helpless critters, or whole communities.   HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Romans 3:23 \"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.\"
We are all sinners. To God, sin is sin. No sin is greater or lesser than another. HELLO -- Moses committed a murder, and he became a great man of God! I guess some of the people in your church either forgot all that, or didn\'t know it to begin with. Instead of counseling and guiding you, they judged you.
Matthew 7:1 \"Judge not that ye be judged.\" -- Jesus\' words.

When my first husband, my daughter\'s father, died in a car accident, my daughter kept me alive. We went through some rough times, and she and my current husband had their problems when she was a teenager. She went through a period of rejecting his authority. They got past that and, per her request, he gave her away at her wedding.

May you and you son grow together to have at least as good a relationship as my daughter and I do. And may you stay well enough to take good care of your furry babies, too!
Happy late Momma\'s day.

Wonderful journal Max!!! This is so true about Motherhood! It is truly a gift!! I raised my daughter by myself. My church and my family gave me wonderful support. My daughter has turned out to be a lovely young lady, but as you said...she is still my child and my responsibility. I take that responsibility very seriously.

I find my daughter to be so inspiring as I watch her grow. In our good times and bad times, we find great comfort and joy in the love we share, and I thank the GOOD Lord, that he gave me this special job of \"being a mom\" oxo
