Happy Friday Eve

I feel pretty good this morning.  Last night was OK.  He came home in a much better mood and even arrived early.  Of course, by the time he gets done screwing around it was still almost 8 before we ate dinner.  Grilled chicken with garlic mixed vegetables and salad.  it was pretty good. :)

I continue to do really well with this diet.  I actually wore a BIKINI on Sunday for the first time in YEARS!  It's not just the weight/body shape changes.  I actually feel more mentally stable and even throughout the day. I have energy.  I want to do stuff!  I wonder if anyone ever did a study to compare the growth rate of depression/anxiety compared with the growth of the processed food industry, if there were be an obvious correlation?  I'm not sure yet that this is why I have been better.  The jury is still out, and I think I will know more after winter arrives, and I see how I feel when it's cold and gray.  That is typically the worst time of year for me.  I'm still at an overall weight loss of 15 pounds, but the one thing I regret was they suggested you take measurements at the beginning and I did not. I know I have lost a lot more in inches, especially around the middle, than pounds.  I was never unhappy about the number I was at really.  It was more about the way fat was accumulating around my middle.  I know meds like effexor also promote weight gain so I am fighting against that....and they don't call it the over 40 bulge for nothing. People keep asking me how much longer I am on this diet.  I tell them, it's not a fad diet, it's a lifestyle change and it's forever.  Sure, once I feel like I have lost all the fat I want then I can add in some more carbs but I don't think I ever want to go back to my old ways of eating if this is how good I will feel.

He sat there through dinner last night and said how we has trying his best to stick to the diet throughout the day.  He said:  you think I'm just out eating carbs all day when I'm at work.  I said, no I don't.  I have no idea what you eat during the day(and to be honest I don't really give it any thought).  I just kept my mouth shut.  We both know that until he stops getting most of his daily calories from a can that he will not lose anything or feel any better.  He talks about the foods he eats and though that is going to make a difference. Even if he was to eat only one meal a day, unless he gives up the beer, i'm not sure it would make any difference. That's on him.  I am responsible only for my own health.

I am still missing my self defense class a little bit.  I have been toying with the idea of getting a heavy bag to work out in the garage.  I have been trying to research them a bit.  I have never used one before and am afraid it will be too light and swing too much.  Being able to come home and throw a few knees and elbows, would be nice way to work off the day's stress.

the heavy bag is a great idea, Im pretty sure my dad made one out of like a bag that would hold clothes (military) and had it full of clothes- it was quite heavy, the important thing is the hook and the chain u have it hang from (u can probably make one yourself as a tester- I would check youtube diy heavybag) the endorphins are the best medication, self defense is brilliant- the stronger u feel physically, the stronger u will feel mentally and so forth, u sound really good, & focused;)

Oh thank you! I will check that out. I am surprised at how much I am having self defense withdrawal. I find myself want to throw random knees and elbows throughout the day LOL
