got some happy dance in my soul today!
Hi,
I'm listening to Joni Mitchell.......the yard is mowed/Bruce rocks!!!!........"Come on down to the Mermaid Cafe and I'll buy you a glass of wine".........boy it's been a long time since I heard that song........"I'll put on some silk, oh you're a mean old Daddy but I like you, I like you.........maybe I'll go to Amsterdam, maybe I'll go to Rome.......I'll rent me a grand piano" and ..........oh my.............it's a beautiful day!
I sat outside earlier.........talked to God. He's so gracious, I share a little of my troubles and he nudges me to let the bad air out. Most breathing techniques focus on breathing in rather than out, there is an ancient technique called "kapalbhati" or the cleansing breath. It centers on exhaling to purge toxins, as well as to release the stale trapped air that causes fatigue. I sit up straight - close my eyes & take a breath. Then suddenly exhale through the nose.....with as much force as I can muster......aiming for a loud powerful whoosh! Repeat this a few times, inhaling normally and then pushing the air out. It can refresh and calm a body down. If you do this regularly it strengthens the muscles around your rib cage so you can naturally take in more oxygen throughout the day.
That's my little bit of heaven to share today.......feeling so much better than yesterday, thank you Lord........for sun, for friends, for cooling a/c...........for wonderful music.........oh and if your eyes are tired, close your eyes one more time and press the spot right between your eyes for thirty seconds. Accupressurists call this the "Yin Yang" or the "Third Eye." Pressing this spot dissolves tension and pressure in the face, sinuses and soothes your eye muscles too. (It's really great to use on children before medical procedures, very calming.)
Love ya, soft hugs.................Sparrow
This is what I actually wrote first, a random bit of creative syllables on the page to warm up my thinker.........trying to remember the joy of summer:
Born an old soul...........she was always watching, this child born during a storm, on an icy cold winter's night. She felt too much. She felt everything. She wanted to soothe, protect, help, kiss the boo boos of the world away......make it all better.
She had a quick laugh, intense curiosity in the world around her. She wanted to know everything. She was genuinely interested. Sky blue eyes, curly sun streaked auburn hair..... and a special delight in never being a matchy matchy sort of child.
She loved to pull on tops/bottoms/socks & shoes without a jolly two shot give a care at how things LOOK! She finger pulled her curls up to the back of her head and tied it into a knot.............she did brush her pearly whites........somethings must be done. Plus, she liked the squeaky clean feel after brushing, she would run her tongue over her shiny white teeth until someone bid her stop.
Today she wore.......goodness what was she wearing.....??? Her brother's superman t-shirt.....five years too big for her skinny ol bag a bones......and her younger sisters' stretchy shorts.......whoopsie. The t-shirt went to her knees so who cared? It was a sunshiny day..........where was her other ked? a day begging to be played with and explored........she danced down the stairs.......skipped through the house in search of provisions. A PB&J for later & some cheerios to get her on her way.
She had to be quick before a grown up could grab her and put the kibosh on her escape. Grown ups always had a list. A never ending organized pattern of operation that twisted a child's delight into uniform size........she was determined to make it off the yard before a parent hit the stairs. She ate her cheerios and listened for the familiar creak the steps made when generals & admirals approached.
She saw her neighbor coming over......she had to hurry, if Henry caught her the day would be lost. She tipped her bowl up, drank the sugary milk......used a fist to wipe her mouth and carefully opened the screen door. She tied & knotted her sandwich into her shirt.........no time for prissiness, it was a day for action.
She made it......out the screen door, caught it so it wouldn't slam........down the steps - dashed round the house........she had to get to her blue schwinn fast. She had to be far enough away that an adult would have to give her the benefit of the doubt later when she fibbed and said she couldn't possibly hear her FULL CHRISTIAN NAME hollered out several times!
She took off........only a half a block to the country......newly poured dusty gravel. She had to concentrate, it was only her first year riding.......gravel was tricky. The good part was that the town street crew hadn't hit it with tar yet. Sure tar kept the dust down, but the smell was awful......and if you fell, tar was hot mean sticky goo.
She crossed over the old bridge......caught a glint of minnows swimming rapidly from the sun into the cooler shaded water. Summer, how could anyone not fall in love with summer?

Lovely entry. I enjoy Joni Mitchell too. The breath technique you described is easy to do even when tired. Glad you shared.

When is the next chapter due? I wanna read the next instalment NOW ! Where does she go? What does she get up to? Patience was never my strong point, you left me hanging there.
You got to turn this into a full length tale Ruthie !

Love the idea about the third eye too. very relaxing. I also like the 5 second in, t second out breath. And then there is the 4 in, 7 hold, 8 count out that helps me sleep (sometimes). hugs and prayers, m
