Good choice, NICE day...

I had appts. for my denture relining yesterday, so took the bus out to where I could walk to the dentures place – MU-UU-UCH shorter than the first time! On coming back for the bus though, I waited on the wrong corner and he never saw me. Grrr... Hour to wait, or a taxi? Hour to wait, or a taxi? Eventually I realized I had an hour to take my rest outside on a sunny afternoon before winter came down (maybe for the last time for many moons) and decided not to sweat it. I noticed a little path through the weeds away from the road and lay down back there. The weeds sheltered me from most of the chill-ish breeze and and any curious eyes, and it was sunny. I rolled up my sleeves to catch some sun and make some Vitamin D – the GOOD stuff.
While I was lying there, I felt someone very small bump into my leg and freeze. After a minute, the someone decided to go THIS way instead – parallel to my body. I watched the leaves rustle and move just a little as someone went on their way. Very cool!
I was very glad I'd decided not to stay all bent out of shape over “missing” the bus. And the newly refitted dentures fit great!

Unpredictable moments can be such a blessing ,bringing increased awareness to the here and now and reminding us that we have limited control. Happy that your new choppers are looking good and feeling comfy. Who or what was the someone? Or did you have your eyes closed ? Love to you.xo

So glad you made the choice to accept the gift of sunshine and peace rather than give in to frustration. I remember a similar experience. During a hectic workday, I had to take time off to pick up my son and take him to a dentist appointment followed by lunch at his favorite restaurant - a little place called Aunt Chillota\'s. Of course, the dentist ran late, then shocked me with his quote for the dental work Matt needed. By the time we arrived at the restaurant, it was very busy. I wanted to go somewhere faster, but I had promised Matt.. I was feeling very pressured to get back to my job and overwhelmed with worry about how to pay for the dental work. We ate quickly and I was literally pushing Matt out the door when the owner stopped us, apologized for the slow service, and gave each of us a large complimentary ice-cream cone. With that act of kindness, my worry melted away and I thought, \" to heck with work, I\'m going to enjoy this beautiful fall day and eat ice cream with my son.\" We found a quiet park bench under a gorgeous red maple tree and we talked and ate and laughed so hard! It is a memory I will always cherish. Thanks for bringing it to mind. xoxo

What a wonderful story, Eweneek! And what a wise restaurant owner to see your frustration and go out of his way to \"turn that frown upside down\"! To me, it also speaks volumes about how simple kindness has such ability ability to magnify and grow.
I think to his mind, he was investing a few pennies to ensure happy customers who would come back over and over, and by doing so, turn his tiny investment into your happiness into far greater riches and good will. You just can\'t buy good word-of-mouth advertising, and that\'s the best there is.

Falconwings, thank you. I was certainly blessed on that day; I\'ve been having difficulty turning MY frowns upside down lately!

Di, I didn\'t see who someone was, but am pretty sure someone was a mouse or a vole. When someone bumped into me, my instantaneous impression was of a small furry body like a field mouse. I was certainly in the right neighborhood (habitat) for such a someone.

Love to you all... xoxo

I want to someday master the ability to accept and flow with whatever life brings, no matter what that may be. You sound like you are moving in that direction. I admire that ability in people.

Thank you Diane. The older I get, the less I want to struggle against life... Life is brief, but full, regardless of what it is full of at any given moment.
