Friday August 12th
I have not been on here in many days. As expected, it was a crazy week all the way around. The server upgrade at work continued to be a pain in my ass. Those people are such spoiled users and the bad attitudes and whining grated on my nerves. The kids started school on Weds and that was pretty uneventful. I stressed all week about my keyboarding class. My goal was 61 wpm...nine or less mistakes would have been a C, 7 a B, and three less an A. All the young people who procrastinated where there the last week trying to shove the whole semester into a few days. As there are only 40 computers in the lab it made for long waiting times to get a seat. Since I work full time I could not get there before quarter to 5 in the evening and they close at 7 so it didn't leave much time. Weds was the worst. There were more than 25 people ahead of me. I did not get a seat til quarter after 6 and by the time I left I could not get my errors down to less than 11 or twelve. Also, waiting outside was very hot and I was tired by the time I got in there. By the time I got home that night I was very upset believing I was not even going to pass the class. Of course, my boyfriend had been drinking (big surprise) and was upset with ME because I was ruining his evening by being upset over a silly class.
After work on Thursday I drove by the campus and could see only two people standing outside so I parked and went in. I have no idea how I even managed but I finished up with 7 errors and a B. I'm still not sure how I pulled that off but I'll gladly take it.
Thursday morning I got to register for fall classes and actually managed to get two classes I needed without being wait listed. So, in deep contrast to Weds, Thurs turned out to be really great.
I have been having spasms in my lower back now for three days...no doubt from the stress. Since I have been getting no where with regular physicians I decided to take a leap and went to a chiropractor today. I am not really sure how I feel about this. He warned me that after the first session I might actually feel worse and I have to admit I am getting pretty sore. The incredibly loud snap he gave to my neck startled the crap out of me. Of course, as soon as I was done and out of there I started to have a really bad anxiety attack.
Since no one was around to see me cheat (since I am supposed to be quitting), I lit a smoke in the car on the way home and just kept reminding myself all the way home that since I could not possible be sick, I was just freaking myself out.
That seemed to work for the most part but I was still full of excess energy when I got home so since he took the kids to an eye appointment this afternoon I did everyone's chores to wear myself down. After all, he cooks dinner every night and they do the chores every night while I'm at school so it was the least I could do.
