feeling better!
yesterday was really hard, the first part. i basically white knuckled it to get through my cravings for alcohol. i didn't work in the evening and also didn't work this morning so it seemed very easy to just go the store and buy some beer and drink. espcially since i was feeling depressed and knew that drinking would right away make me feel better before i would have to deal with the hangover. instead i went hiking and listened to an audiobook called the "the war of art" by steven pressfield which is about the resistance an artist or entrepeneur or anyone who is embarking on a solo endeavor/project faces. i have been feeling depressed becuase of my laziness, like i am in a battle with myself. but hearing his words and not drinking and exercising was really uplifting. i then got a deliciosu salad and a lemongrass/apple shake at my favorite salad joint and then went to a co-working space to work on an article i am writing.
today i woke up late around 10 am, which i don't like waking up that late. had some dreams i remembered. i feel a ton better and am so happy with myself for not drinking. i am really, really proud of this. see, once i open the floodgates, like how i drank a couple times the past week, sometimes it is hard to close them. but now i think they are closed and i am back on my path and re-oriented. i really like this book. i just need to put in a couple hours a day to make this happen.
well, i teach tonight for 2 or 3 hours. right now i am going to go to the organic shop and stock up on some stuff and then come home and do some work and exercise and also harvest my kombucha. everything is going to be ok.

Yep, everything will indeed be ok:)
You did well yesterday and worked hard to break the cycle that we all know too well. I find that if I can make it through those first couple of days it gets much better. I hate the white knuckling it thing, though. It's a shitty feeling and one that I wish a person could just take a pill for and make it all go away. Oh, wait......maybe that's what Xanax is for??? LOL.
Have a good one.
