Three things that make me Happy: 1.Snowmen! 2.Puppysitting. 3.When my head doesn’t hurt!
Yes, I have been fighting a headache for the past few days – to the point where even looking at the computer screen was painful. It’s better now – what a relief! Prior to that I was puppy-sitting Ronan and had some really pleasant days. The temps were above freezing with the sun glinting off fresh white snow. It was a perfect day for building a snowman which is what some of the neighborhood kids were doing. Since the streets were finally ice-free, I felt comfortable taking Ronan and Mitzi for walks and we walked farther than I thought I would be able to. Last Saturday I took Ronan home to Penny and met daughter Sabrina and her husband there for supper. We had a nice visit. She seems really happy with her new job at the Register of Deeds office and is especially grateful to be out of the tax business now that the IRS system crashed!
I am trying to work up the determination to make an appointment with my GP to get a referral to a neurologist and hopefully get a diagnosis. In addition, I seem to have developed scalp psoriasis – yet another condition thought to be related to immune disorders and stress. I first noticed it while getting ready for Daddy’s funeral. It improved for a while, but is worse again and is now causing hair loss, so I think a need a prescription-strength treatment. In a couple weeks, we will be heading down to the Cancer Center in Tulsa for follow-up. I can’t believe it has been six months since my last appointment there. I had intended to check in with my GP and find a massage therapist shortly after my last cancer follow up, but I’m just so tired of the medical system.
Don has been putting his ice shack to good use and has brought home a nice mess of fish. It makes me nervous to have him on the ice when the temperature gets into the upper 30s. The fish have only been biting before dawn and after dusk, so it is usually cold enough then. Good for him. I have no desire to indulge again in that sport, but I will happily eat up the walleye!
It feels like my headache may be coming back, so I’ll close for now. I want to read some journals and posts before it gets too bad. Love you all.

Yes, go to the neurologist, for sure!! Mine has been more helpful than my GP. He is actually trying to help me. So, I can\'t stress enough how much I think you need to keep on that path. Glad that Don brought some nice fish home. I used to eat walleye. It\'s been a long time. Much love.
I\'m not a fish eater...but tell ya what! I appreciate anybody who will go out and bring me food! LOL! I\'m allergic to the kitchen!!
You\'re building snowmen, and here in Jersey we had 50 degree temps. in January, drowning in rain in the middle of winter! It\'s nutz!! I think that the temperature changes....being so radical and extremely variable affects our bodies badly. I think it may have something to do with your headaches. I\'m glad to hear you are going to see a Neurologist. Good plan!!
My daughter goes through spells of hair loss. She has lupus. It goes with the territory, but she is only 34, and losing her beautiful hair is heartbreaking and soul destroying to her. I\'m sure it is upsetting to you. I do hope you find a way to get to the bottom of this! I know you are suffering many \"mini pains\" emotionally and physically. You need a diagnosis, and a plan. And friends! I\'m here to help you on that last one!! For sure! xo
Sorry about that headache. They are horrible! I\'ve had bad headaches since I was five years old. I have been able to tame them down over the years by knowing the triggers like certain foods. I eat so healthy now its ridiculous! I also started allergy shots about 5 months ago and this was the best January I had in years. We have high cedar pollen in central Texas in Jan which usually gives me lots of headaches, but i was so much better. Not that I still didn\'t get them . . .
I hope you can get some help from the neurologist. If not, try acupuncture, chinese herbs and massage. Especially if you are stressed.! Good luck!
