Eternal Security

One Saturday evening,I decided to watch Charles Stanley because I know he is a good preacher and knows how to hold your attention. I enjoyed it so much that I took out my copy of "The Wonderful Spirit-Filled Life" and read it (I can't remember if I read it before or just skimmed through certain parts). I liked the way he handled the part about speaking in tongues,I used to do that but haven't for quite a while. I think it's important to have the baptism IN the Holy Spirit (Stanley says "of') but not to speak in tongues. I've known some sweet,wonderful,Godly people who didn't speak in tongues and the reason I know this is because I was a member of the local Assembly of God church and they used to ask anybody who wanted to receive the gift of the baptism in the Holy Spirit to come up to the altar,be prayed over and lay on hands,then just open their mouth and start babbling the first thing that came out of their mouths (a Baptist friend of mine said "I'd like to see you do that at a job interview and see what happens"). I enjoyed Stanley's book so much that I bought a copy of his book "Eternal Security" from Amazon.I couldn't put it down last night.But then I read the part about what the kingdom of God on earth will be like. If heaven is anything like Stanley says it is,I don't want to go there.
