ECT #33
Every third Monday is ECT day. Today's was good but hectic. The nurses usually have everything laid and ready. Not so today. The setup is four bays all ready to receive patients, each bay has a dedicated nurse and each bay has all of its consumables. The material for the IV, monitoring supplies, ambu bags, and IV medicines. It takes about thirty minutes for each patient to be readied for the shocking. This morning all of us in the bays but no supplies. The nurses were frustrated, harried and late. The shocking happened about thirty min late. I felt for the poor nurses running around and frustrated.
The ECT will stave off depression for a few weeks

(Later) Hey, fyi, I'm down with a case of nausea this evening at 9pm. So if I don't participate as much as usual tomorrow it's because I'm waiting to purge whatever has upset my stomach so I can get over feeling nauseated, OK?
